It is rather low in the mix, however, so it's hard to tell unless you have your Walkman on and pinned like I do all the time. There also exists a chance that the guitar was indeed distorted but the tone was not as saturated as the average metal guy's(i.e. a cranked amp as opposed to a distortion box as most punk players tended to do back in the day--punks weren't big on effects most of the time remember?) so yes it would sound fairly clean compared to that and of course Jerry's raging wall of death bass sound. Was it Bobby Steele who played in that version? I'm pretty sure it may have been. Just a musician's view on this here. Also, nothing against Supernaut, but why would you want to hear other bands doing Misfits covers when the band is still out there playing them, mate? I realise you think it's a neat idea but I personally can't see it or envision the songs being played by anyone else aside from the band themselves--no whining about how it's not the same band any more, you geeks who hate Michale for no reason, OK? By now most of you probably heard that some of the players trashed their rooms in the Olympic Village. To think some NHL genius aswered this by saying the chairs were week and that just by sitting in them they broke. I guess once you flatten the chair by sitting in it, fire extinguishers just fly through windows and spray up rooms by themselves. I know some of you do not take to kindly to non Misfits talk. Now at some points I do agree when it comes to flaming, and certain unmentionalble threads. But I hate to point this out, right now things are stagnant, no new vinyl, no amazing shows, no hot fiendish topics at the end of February. Not even worth any form of excitement for the Bleeders Die-gest that came in the mail. What can I say, I had greater expectations. Actually Doug, I do have a question for you. Since you are doing the Squirt magazine, what are the chances that the Bleeders Die-gest could be designed into a small scale magazine? Maybe have a color cover, and the rest be black and white newspaper stock. Most printing companies will let you have another piece piggyback with something you are already paying for to run when it comes to color. Plus, some other collaboration on putting the Bleeder together. Don't take this as a flame, this is no way knocking you but I guess I expected something different. I realize the bible will probably never be to the satisfaction of the New Misfits or you as you put it. Though you need to think about what you have here. Before the computer problems Mark had, there were well over 1000 fiends reading, and at least 10+% posting. There is no way that everyone would agree, get along, or know as much about the bands(do remember the bible encompasses many other bands all connected to the Misfits) from one fiend to the next. Yeah, there are some really fucked up thread, and some fiends that still just don't get it. But even with all the stuff that happens some of us just stick it out. The Supernaut made an interesting post regarding what would be the ideal Misfits tribute album. While I agree that a few of his choices would be somewhat interesting, they weren't all too feasible. First of all, no self-respecting fiend wants Marilyn Manson anywhere near a Misfits song. Second of all, the Ramones covering the 'Fits ain't gonna happen because: 1) they broke up some time ago, 2) Why would they cover a band that they influenced? I'm only offering criticism. Subject: "Bullet" bootleg, VERY close to the original I own a bootleg of ãBulletä (first press) that is very close to the original and I have not seen it mentioned anywhere (thereâs been another boot mentioned with ãMasterdiskä on the vinyl, but this one is different) so I figured Iâd describe it here so no one gets ripped off. The boot is very similar to the original but when I bought an original ãBulletä I noticed some subtle differences: THE SLEEVE - The bootleg has a gate fold sleeve (like the original) but it is made out of a different material, the sleeve on the boot is more glossy than the original. Also the red on the boot is lighter than the original. The sleeve, when compared to the real thing is obviously fake. THE VINYL - The vinyl on the other hand is very close to the original. The vinyl on the boot has the same center labels as the original as well as the exact same etchings in the run off grooves (right down to the line under ãich ã in ãRich Floresä). The only major difference that I noticed was that the bootleg has 2 grooves before the first song starts while the original has 4 grooves before the first song starts. THE INSERT - The insert is just a black and white photocopy of the original. You have NO right to insult fiends though, (You said that "you and the band turn deaf ears etc.") - first of all does that really come from the band? - I find it hard to believe that the Misfits would have such a fuck you attitude towards fiends. Are you the Misfits spokesperson? I know of alot of fiends who have written letters to the Fiend club and never get any response, so can you really blame them? Alot of questions DON'T get answered, so the fiends have every right to talk about issues. You are not in the band, so no one is looking for answers from you - they are looking for answers from the band about stuff they send away for or up to date information. Your just a fiend like everyone else. The die-gest usually has old news so what do you expect? You shouldn't act so superiour, I've written to the fiend club and the Misfits, not to you. The video features clips from the horror classic "The Bride of Frankenstein" as the film provided inspiration for the song. All clips from "The Bride" have been fully cleared for broadcast through Universal Pictures. Sarah Karloff, Misfits supporter and daughter of Boris Karloff, personally gave her permission for the use of her father's image in the video after speaking to Director: John Cafiero. Sarah became aware of the Misfits as Jerry Only: bass and leader of the band, was instrumental in the immortalization of Boris Karloff on the U.S. postage stamp. Misfits Fiend Club members pitched in support for the stamps as well. Elsa Lanchester's estate who represent the woman behind the "The Bride" also gave their consent for her appearance in the "Bones" video. The Misfits iconic mascot, has been brought into the live action world. Misfits friend and fan Rob Zombie (of the band White Zombie), showed his support of the videos by recommending Make-up fx artist Norman Cabrera, to sculpt the skull faced Fiend and create the mask. "American Psycho" is the second video from the legendary Misfits. An authentic pipe organ (circa 1920) was customized in Misfits fashion, (the pipes have a bat-wing formation). Director: John Cafiero asked Daniel Rey, (Producer of the "American Psycho" CD Geffen Records), to record a traditional pipe organ version of the Misfits' track "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" which leads into "American Psycho". The pipe organ version is mixed into the original CD track as the Fiend plays the organ in the video. The cover art for the current CD was painted by the classic "Famous Monsters Magazine" cover artist Basil Gogos. The artwork is brought to life literally, in the video for "American Psycho". The title track from the Geffen release had its official premiere screening 1/11/98 on the big screen at Fangoria Magazine's Weekend of Horrors Convention in NYC.
