Mourning Noise got together in '82 and recorded a 7" EP and a lot of unreleased material (soon to be released on the band's upcoming compilation CD) before disbanding in '84. Like their friends the Misfits, Mourning Noise had their own distinct horror image. The powerful team of Steve Zing (ex-Samhain, ex-Undead, current band Chyna) on drums and Mike Mansfield on vocals raged through great songs like "Dawn Of The Dead," "Nestle Baby Killer," "Demon Eyes," and "Monster Madness." The band broke up when Steve Zing and their later guitarist Damien left to join Samhain on a full time basis. Now, 13 years later, Gausten Productions (who brought The Misfits to Action Park) brings you the original lineup of Mourning Noise on stage at the Franklin American Legion hall in Franklin, NJ on August 23rd. Doors open at 3pm - don't miss it. Date: Sat., August 23, 1997 Time: doors open at 3pm Venue: Franklin American Legion (Franklin, NJ) Admission: Six Dollars, all-ages Tentative Line-Up: Anotherence (Past and present members of Anotherence, Sick Boys, Squiggy, and Those Unknown), The Accelerators (Ex members of the Parasites), Against the Grain (Ex Cause For Alarm). A while back, there was a discussion about the union of MEGADETH and the MISFITS on tour. I thought the idea was kooky but I have to admit now that megadeth is really good these days. their fan club is a little lame (the cyberarmy) but they are a good match for the misfits and make for an awesome live show. (hey, far better than metallica these days) in any event, I have seen a startling number of 80's metal bands making a sorrowful attempt at a comeback, but megadeth has been fairly consistent. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 04 Aug 1997 09:25:27 -0500 From: NightSpawn Subject: New Fan/Crimson Ghost T-Shirt Wanted I just got into the Misfts thanks to my friend Mike. I happen to be a new MiSFiTS fan. I got into them after my girlfriend told me about Danzig being in them. I was like, "No way! The midget was in another band?!" On vacation this June, I purchased Walk Among Us and popped it into my Diskman. I was amazed. I wasn't a big punk fan, but I listened to these guys and from then on, I was hooked. Later on, I went out and bought the most loved/hated album since Metallica's LOAD of shit, American Psycho. This album blew me away. The first thing I noticed is that Graves accualy can sing, unlike Danzig who posses little singing ability. The guitars were better played, most likely to 13? years of pratice. True, the lyrics weren't as 'in your face' as Danzig, but then that is what Danzig does, writes lyrics that make you question. I went to a friends house who had Collection I and it was a great cd. Now, I personally think old 'FiTS fans flaming new MiSFiTS fans is wrong, because, at one time or another, you were a new MiSFiTS fan yourself. I think we all should just appricate the fact that their are people who enjoy the music the MiSFiTS put out. #MiSFiTS is a cool place. I personally like Hepcat and the others in there. Its a funplace, as long as you dont go in there and give us some bible thumping bs and give us bullshit about how Manson rules and MiSFiTS suck. And to finish this up, I totally agree with Thomas Bloomfield's comment about Danzig and its members. Danzig was a total dipshit for dumping Chuck and John so he can play his industrial "music." And notice how I use the term music loosely CitizenV ------------------------------ From: JIBBO@IX.NETCOM.COM Date: Mon, 04 Aug 1997 13:00:46 - Subject: static age hey, on the static age in the boxset, why is static age on it twice ( tracks 1 and 2)?????? has anyone noticed this???? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Aug 1997 13:32:34 -0500 Subject: undead test press From: socalledpunk@juno.com (Tony S.) This was before Psycho was released and I heard alot of people saying that the new singer sucked....Well, you don't! Mike is a good singer, He is not Danzig, but no one is and no on will ever be Danzig...Mike is mike and he has his own style, That is how he sings! Well at the Action Park show it had been a long day and the Fits finaly get on stage. The crowd was great (except for a few Mike bashers) the Fits were great and the whole setting was great... Except the PIT!!! It was nothing bit a bunch if collage fuckups and new breed punk rockers. Then about half way into the show Mike gets anoyed with the pit and finaly decides to teach the crowd how to pit... In a CIRCLE like the old days!!!!! Now the show got even better! This is the first time I have seen a CIRCLE PIT since 1989....and it was incredible!!! (just like the old days, thanks Mike!) So for all you Show goers..... The pit goes in a circle...Not slaming the person in front of you or beside you as hard as you can so they can fall and get thier head smashed by a steel toe boot!!! Do it right next time, trust me you will have a lot more fun and less people will get hurt. Remember you are there to see the band not to kill the guy next to you!!! And mike if you read this you are doing a GREAT job... and thanks for bringing back the "CIRCLE" I have missed it for many years and I hope that you will do the same thing at any of the shows that people forget how to pit!!!! thanks Demonbane138 -aka- Rich P.S. - I use Yahoo chat a lot so stop in and see me and let me know what you think about what I said! and check out my site sometime I am working on a Misfits room in there.... ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Aug 1997 22:02:17 - (EDT) From: ChristoTer@aol.com Subject: Hey hey YELLOW STATIC AGE ChristoTer has a yellow Static Age for trade. Webb) Subject: Misfits old and new First off I hope that I am sending this to the correct adress. As a new subscriber I am a little fuzzy on the Bible protocol. If not let me know and I'll straighten my act out. It seems like I am the last Misfits fan to find out that the Misfits have regrouped. I stumbled across the boxed set last week and for the first time in years I got that feeling. After several restless nights plagued by visions of my past I bought the black coffin. On the way to the checkout line I checked under "Misfits" just for laughs. Low and behold a NEW Misfits CD "American Psycho" was wedged between Static Age and some tribute to the Misfits called Violent World. I left the store with AP. At home I started with the Static Age CD and worked through the rest of the boxed set. It was an experience to here those familiar chords and bellowing voice after so many years. 20 Eyes still pumps my adrenaline like it did when I first heard it in 1983. After the boxed set came American Psycho (Oh yes, a back to back marathon). COLOSSAL describes the sound of Dr. Phibes which had me peaked for a true musical triumph, but what followed was a bit less than what I expected from such a line up. The engineering on AP far surpasses any of the original Misfits recordings but the content seemed a bit trite when compared to the earlier works. The original Misfits lyrics and instruementation evoked my imagination more intensely than the songs on AP. I also think that Glenn's voice is more dynamic. AP is still a SOLID work by a SOLID band who I bet put on one HELL of a show. As a Misfits listener I can't help but compare and put my two cents out here, but I WON'T sit around and slag the new Misfits simply because they are different than the original Misfits. Change is necessary. Okay, Danzig, Samhain, and the real Misfits. Who is still making Misfits music? As I see it, no one. Sure, some may like AMERICAN PSYCHO, and some may not, but some on both sides also say it's not really the Misfits. Since you've now informed us all of our opinions, I hope we can all all mail-in our STATIC AGE CDs to you, to have those tracks scratched off. Wait a minute, we'll also have to erase parts of LEGACY OF BRUTALITY and BOXSET DISC FOUR, because they also contain those songs. Ahh, while we're at it we should just trash all original Misfits recodings, since they are not 100% artistic masterpieces like AMERICAN PSYCHO. > > friends and I left, we were amped. You see, when you call Glenn a fudge-packer and a midget and all that to his face, he'd probably beat the living hell out of you, without even breaking his own sweat. Whoops! I forgot, you wouldn't say that to his face. And for all those of you who think I'm just kissing Glenn's ass, as you no doubt believe I always do, let me just say that I have no problem with people's opinions, provided they do not idiotically belittle others' opinions as this guy did. I also have this problem with nobodies shooting their mouths off when the target isn't around. If you hate Danzig, then that's great, but if you're going to pepper your critique with stupid name-calling and instigators, even when you and everyone else knows damn well that the guy could easily hospitalize you, then you're just talking out of your ass. I am truly not sure if it's possible for anyone to criticize Glenn's talent or abilities without somehow resorting to insults about his height, his character, or his hobbies, or whatever. But it has to be possible; I'm just saying that I can't recall any who have done it. > > Nails fans. I expect to get a lot of flack. It's actually a tad complicated now boys and girlz. As for the music: I'm no musician, but from what I gather, they didn't improve it much, and they had about 15 years practise time. As for the lyrics, no one said were "deep" or "meaningful" (oh wait, sorry, Jerry basically said that in the Dutch i/v reprinted a few issues ago, I forgot) -- but the old lyrics were FAR better than those on AP.AAs someone pointed out a while back, Glenn was and is infinitely better than the new Misfits at communicating imagery, evoking mood, etc. Also, you should note that the boxset text contains numerous lyrical errors. > > It took me 10 minutes to figure out American Psycho (w/ the tabs), > > as opposed to the 2 minutes it took me to learn Where Eagles Dare (okay, > > WED is a very simple song....but AP is one of the easiest on the new > > LP). That's nice, but it's really pointless to compare the old and new Misfits on the basis of the complexity of their musical arrangements, because neither are very demanding. And didn't you say in the beginning of your post that it was stupid to make comparisons between the two bands? And more, didn't you define them as only one band? Why has all of the this new/old Misfits, Michale/Glenn thing gone so out of hand lately? Why do you people even bother posting if all you're going to do is say "anyone who _________ the new Misfits/Michale sucks." Everyone seems to be upset over everyone else's opinions about AMERICAN PSYCHO, and about the new Misfits in general. It's one thing to defend or refute an argument (even with some sarcasm, as I do), but it's quite another to get all riled up just because someone doesn't see the new Misfits as a miracle, or does see them as a miracle, or whatever. Those who like the band are called idiots and traitors, and those who don't like it...wait a minute, same thing. Why? In conclusion, I will only say that Shawn Michaels' first reign as WWF champion was almost double that of both of the Undertaker's reigns combined, and furthermore, Michaels was never defeated at the end of his second reign. -Brett ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 6 Aug 1997 00:49:00 - From: knoss@iwaynet.net (KEITH "GWAR" NOSS) Subject: Hello!? And has abs I could wash my jeans on to boot... To paranoid: I happen to love metal, and not the silly 80s hair band swill either. At 14 I started out with that, discovered British bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and the almighty Motorhead (still one of my fave bands ever, Lemmy is an authentic metal diety!), then after discovering thrash with Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer (still one of my alltime fave bands EVER--they'll never top "Reign In Blood"!)it was downhill from there. I love death metal/grindcore as well, but I'm verrrry picky about that stuff these days. I discovered the Misfits due to Metallica back in '87 and I've been a fiend ever since. So you see, not all fiends hate metal. I love it and make no apologies for it given I have pretty deep roots with thrash/death metal to begin with; I just see punk/hardcore/metal as being siblings with different styles and outlooks and images in my opinion. I agree wholeheartedly with your recent post stating that one must at least attempt to be at least somewhat intelligent in one's criticisms as opposed to being immature and tasteless ( a la Blag) or misinformed and tactless. You go mate! But I do disagree with you on Danzig's recent output. I felt cheated and disappointed when I first heard "Danzig5"'s first single on Samhain night last year, and my exact words to myself as I heard the song on the radio were "This is NOT Danzig...this is Nine Inch Nails!". After many years of making valid and vital original music that still stands up to this day, I felt that Danzig was finally cashing in and trying to follow a trend to make the extra buckage. Which may not be the case, but that's how I felt at least. I'd rather hear Ministry or the real NIN for Industrial as opposed to Danzig trying to do something along those lines, progress and all well in mind. I don't consider that progress, I consider that plagiarism, in my opinion. I believe quite honestly that the Misfits are at least sticking to their guns and weathering the criticisms for still playing basically the same style of music they ever did. Nothing personal, Brett, but I thought I should give you my 2cents on that bit you spoke of. So if you have the anwser please e-mail me back. > > paranoid Simple, bro, punkers hate metalheads because they're close-minded. As "anti-trend" punkers are, they're all so very concerning about what fits the "punk culture" and what does not. Some say punk is about doing your own thing. That's bullshit, I can tell ya. Try wearing the wrong t-shirt or having long hair and hanging out with a "punk rocker." Uh oh. Your own thing just isn't "cool" with close-minded punkers. It ain't "punk." The sad thing about punk these days is that it's a total conformist style. I went to the Megadeth/Misfits show in St. Louis, and watched a bunch of people walk out after the Misfits finished their awesome set. Now what is the point of avoiding a concert you've already paid for? Seriously, why not at least give Megadeth live a chance, considering most of them have probably never heard even a Megadeth album in their life. It's more trouble avoiding them than giving them a fucking chance to be heard. If I went to see a band I liked open and a rap group was headlining, I'd fucking stay for the rap group. Not that I like rap, I don't, but I've ALREADY FUCKING PAID for them to play, so why not give them a chance? It's not like staying for Megadeth would've hurt anyone, even if they still didn't like them afterwards ("ew, solos, that ain't punk!"). Punk is not a way of life. Hepcat said that "punk is a way of life" to me once in #misfits, then proceeded to tell me what I thought and what I can't understand because I'm not "punk." Basically, because I refuse to conform to anyone and close my mind off to any other style, I come across this kinda "You're a poser / My music is the only true music" shit all of the time. Hepcat, and every other "punk rocker" on this list, listen to me now. I WILL NOT CONFORM TO ANY MUSICAL STYLE, ANY TREND, ANY CULTURE, or ANY "WAY OF LIFE" WHERE SOMEONE ELSE DECIDES HOW I LIVE. My Misfits CDs sit next to CDs from Overkill, Motley Crue, Downset, Marilyn Manson, and Mozart. I know most of these bands aren't "punk" enough for punkers, heavy enough for metalheads, well-written enough for classic listeners, or "modern" enough for every Spice Girls listening trend watcher out there, and I really couldn't give a fuck about any of their opinions. When you gladly pigeonhole yourself as one style or another, you're not much of a music listener, you're just trying to ride a culture (aka way of life aka trend). Okay, I'm out with my rant. The Megadeth/Misfits show in St. Louis was awesome. Before the show, some black guy was walking up and down the line, preaching at us. At one point, out of nowhere, in the middle of his religious ramblings, he shouted "Hard nacho!" Oh, how I love the city... Inside, I was at thevery front of the 2nd level pit, to the right. The lights finally went out and C.H.U.D.'s monster drumset was uncovered, and everyone went apeshit. Doyle was playing that intro thing, which doesn't sound half-bad as an intro live. C.H.U.D. snuck out from behind Jerry speakers and disappeared behind them again, going to his drums. Michale came up with bloody arms, makeup over one eye, and a top hat which he quickly got rid of (no straightjacket). The band arrived and blasted into a new song, "American Psycho," I believe. Now, I haven't heard the new album yet, so that night was the first time I've heard those "cock rock" songs. Honestly, live, they fit in with the old stuff perfectly. I have "American Psycho" (the song) still stuck in my head. Michale would tell the pit to fuckin' move in between songs, and at one point said, "Don't make me come down there." I didn't expect the fucker to actually do it, but during "Static Age," he jumped right in and walked through the middle of the pit. The amazing thing was, he wasn't using a wireless mic! Onstage, Jerry, Doyle, and Michale ran around like death was at their heels. Doyle pounds the shit out of his guitar like it was an ex-wife or something. At one point, Michale ran right into Jerry and his bass, and Jerry got caught up in Michale's cord. Violence! Michale did do the talking during the break of "Mommy..." None of this "this is where security gets nervous" bit I've been told about, he was just telling the crowd to fuckin' move. He told them to show the people up in the balcony that they weren't just wasting space. Jerry did intros to a few songs, such as "Hate the Living, Love the Dead." Jerry also dedicated the show to the Williams family, whoever they are. They did one of my favorite Misfits tracks, "Hybrid Moments," which was extra cool because they didn't do a lot of the better-known songs. They closed with "We Are 138," where Michale again went to the crowd, singing with the fiends. Jerry Only followed suit this time, with his huge skull bass! Jerry ran up and down the front of the pit, letting the fiends "play" his bass for the whole song! Towards the end, Jerry turned around and hurled that monster fucking thing to a roadie. Jerry then returned to the stage, grabbed the bass, and held it over his head. Doyle also had a new solo in the song. The Misfits left the stage, and a lot of punker-than-thou fucks straight left the building, but that's their loss. I'd basically describe the experience as a chance to go apeshit for 40 minutes to one fucking awesome band. You've all read the live reviews in every Misfits Bible before, so let me just say that there's no text anyone could write to do a Misfits live show justice. Go see them yourself, and stick around for Megadeth! Their show was just as good, but this ain't the Megadeth Bible, I still gotta find that. Lemmie just say everyone that left missed out bigtime. The pit was far more wild for Megadeth. My brother demands to have a chance to write about Megadeth, as he feels they deserve to be spoken about if they're gonna give the Misfits the opening slot of this tour. One e-mail, two posts. Ryan's post follows my sig file. -- My personal page: Campy humor & macabre reality wholesale! http://home.stlnet.com/~pdeming/ -- EXPLODE YER LOAD RECORDS http://home.stlnet.com/~pdeming/eyl/index0.htm Ryan: O.K. to anyone it may concern the Megadeth show was fucking bad ass. They opened up with a song called "Holy Wars" and did several other classics such as "Wake-up Dead," "Peace Sells," "In My Darkest Hour," and "Hanger 18". These were played fast and heavy. They also played "Symphony of Destruction" which Dave Mustain described as the song that all the fucking assholes who never liked Megadeth liked because they understood the words to it. They also played "Sweating Bullets," "Reckoning Day," "Train of Consequences," and they played about 5 songs off their new album. Also, for the encore, they played "Anarchy in the U.K." Which I dare to say was played a-lot better than the Sex Pistols could have ever hoped to play it. It was a kick ass fuckin' show. So here to any fellow Megadeth fan who might read this, and to any motherfucker who gets pissed because I'm giving Megadeth well deserved credit "do something about it little bitch." ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 06 Aug 1997 21:14:16 -0400 From: marcia disilvestro Subject: Legacy of Brutality for trade i have a black Legacy of Brutality 12" 2nd pressing for trade send me offers adam ------------------------------ From: "zerbonia" Subject: Bible #361 Date: Wed, 6 Aug 1997 20:47:30 -0500 I wanted to make a few comments: Blag, man, give it up. The first thing I noticed is that Graves accualy can > sing, unlike Danzig who posses little singing ability. The guitars were Huh? Now, I know that last issue I talked all about how you shouldn't rag others' opinions, but this is just craziness. "Danzig "possesses little singing ability?" To what Danzig are you referring? Surely not Glenn. Either you've got a very odd concept of what singing is, or you've been listening to someone else. Listen to "Hollywood Babylon", or "Come Back", or "How the Gods Kill", or "Heart of the Devil", or best of all, the live "Sistinas" on THRALL-DEMONSWEATLIVE-- the list could go on and on -- and it does. The guy can do anything: soft, tender, gentle, loud, screaming, rough, raspy, you name it. And he can switch from one to the other in a heartbeat. As I see it, there is a distinct difference between vocal *talent* and just the sound of a person's voice. For example: Jim Morrison had a nice voice (in my opinion), but he was not particularly great at making use of that voice; he could sing, but he wasn't great. Conversely, there are people who can sing very well, but I just do not particularly like their voices, such as the singer for the Cranberries. Now, if you don't like Glenn's voice, that's one thing, but I seriously do not see how anyone can qustion his ABILITY. > And to finish this up, I totally agree with Thomas Bloomfield's comment > about Danzig and its members. Danzig was a total dipshit for dumping Chuck > and John so he can play his industrial "music." And notice how I use the This is not a matter of opinion: you and Thomas Bloomfield are wrong. The facts are these: Chuck Biscuits quit Danzig in the summer of 1994, due to reportedly personal reasons. He even asked to rejoin the band later, but was not accepted back because he wanted more money and he would not sign a no-drug contract. John and Eerie left OF THEIR OWN CHOICE the following summer, BEFORE Danzig 5 was begun. Glenn left the door open for Erie to return, but it should come as no surpris that John quit, because he has been hinting that he would do so for quite a while -- Danzig music -- even "pre-Danzig 5" Danzig music -- was apparently never quite his style anyway. So on all counts, you two are completely WRONG. However, in all fairness, I must point out that Shawn Michaels has defeated Bret Hart, Mankind, and Vader, all of whom have defeated the Undertaker (some having done so on multiple occasions). -Brett ------------------------------ From: rabid.doctor@mindpulse.com Date: Wed, 6 Aug 1997 22:52:44 -0500 Subject: m.a. correz; are you crazy?! I stumbled across the boxed set last week and for the first time in years I got that feeling. After several restless nights plagued by visions of my past I went and bought the black coffin. On the way to the checkout line I checked under "Misfits" just for laughs. Low and behold a NEW Misfits CD "American Psycho" was wedged between Static Age and some tribute to the Misfits called Violent World. I left the store with AP as well. As a Misfits listener I can't help but compare the bands and put my two cents out here, but I WON'T sit around and slag the new Misfits simply because they are different than the original Misfits. And best of all, the page will have a secured credit card ordering thing (I guess I have to buy the program). I order stuff all the time over the internet and it's very safe and easy. In fact, I just ordered 3 Tron figures and a Lightcycle and I got to see pictures of them on the page and I was able to see and decide whether or not I wanted them. Tim's comic shop is going to be the one stocking and selling the Fiend Club stuff. I'll talk to MK and see about getting the fiend Club page linked on Misfits Central and stuff like that. I am starting on the page as soon as I finish Tim's page for his store It Came From The Basement. He just gave me a zillion things to put on the page so that will keep me busy for a few days. Tim has a bunch of pictures of The Misfits live and backstage at the Warfield in San Fransisco. If anyone wants to see some. email me and I'll scan and email'em to you. Captian Harlock shirts are indeed back! I have so far made 3 for 2 people and I send email to 25 people who wanted one (I kept their mail) and I have oh let me see..... 8 shirts to make. If you want one let me know. Finally, Over the next few days IT CAME FROM THE BASEMENTS web page will grow dramatically. Here is the address. I think it is the best comic and Toys shop around. I live in Southeastern Connecticut, about 1/2 hour from the Rhode Island border. I'm getting together with a couple friends who play instruments and love the MISFITS and we're gonna bash out some MISFITS songs. Thing is, we have no lead singer. We just wanna get together once a week and have fun with it, but it would be cool if we had someone who can sing close to Danzig or Graves. So far, most of the stuff we're covering is old stuff, we might play a couple off of AMERICAN PSYCHO. If you are that person, please e-mail me at PudgeXIII@aol.com. 2. Is this Newfits/Oldfits thing going to end? Shit, nobody is forcing people to listen to AMERICAN PSYCHO or to see them live. If you only like the Glenn Danzig era then fine, don't listen to anything else but that. 3. I am looking for SAMHAIN on LP.. any album. I was wondering if they were still in print or if not, if anyone is willing to sell it to me. 4. TATTOOS!! I am looking for some MISFITS clip art to complete my half-sleeve on my right forearm. I have the American Nightmare on the inside, I'm looking for more pics and ideas to complete the other side... if anyone is really good at drawing stuff like that up please get in touch. Thanks. That's all for now. Date: Thu, 07 Aug 1997 08:25:47 PDT THE FOLLOWING IS FOR THE MISFITS BIBLE MEMBERS WHO THINK THAT THE BIBLE SHOULD BE "SAFE AND ENTERTAININGLY BLAND..." With all the shit being thrown about concerning one BOOBY STEELE-- a person whom I admittedly have never met, I have always regarded him as a second-rate musician and songwriter, and one who is very confused as to which musical direction to pursue. Booby's albums have consistently displayed a distinct artistic schizophrenia that belies his need for the guidance of a higher creative mentality such as Glen Danzig was for him in the past. Having called his band The Undead, he proceeds to write songs about (specifically on ACT YOUR RAGE)getting a blowjob, witches and vampires, and then a few political/punk rants (one a hippy cover song), coupled with harmless cartoony-humor songs. Booby seems to have multiple personalities that he cannot successfully reconcile into a streamlined, cohesive theme for his "band". Mr. Booby also likes to bash one Jerry Only for many reasons, one of them being his ability to make money from his musical/creative abilities. It is my opinion that Mr. Booby would love to to get slagged for this, but is unable to deliver the necessary goods as his creativity is as lame as his leg. Bluntly, Jerry Only has been much better at picking up the pieces left behind by Danzig than Booby has been. As for Booby being a nice guy, you will always find the worst football player on the team sidelines nicer to the fans than the good players. The good players are busy playing and enjoying the game, the shitty ones have no talent or skill to attract fans, so they must rely on being nice, accessible, and a part of the team to get the attention they would get if they knew how to fucking play. In departure from this, Mr. Only (whom I have met) has consistenly shown himself to be friendly and accessible, as well as able to play the game. He's no Danzig in any creative sense, but he's the one touring the world and not Booby. Mr. Only can also keep a band together. So yes, Booby is friendly and easy-going. He's got to be. He's only got one thing going for him-- his brief stint in a legendary band that he was thrown out of. I'd be nice as hell to the band's fans, too if I were him-- he needs all the fans/friends he can get. Booby wasn't there at the beginning or the end of the Misfits. Jerry Only was. Glen Danzig was. Danzig went on to other things, Jerry wanted to keep the band going. Both Glen and Jerry have been successful in achieving their goals-- Booby has not. The newfits are a reasonable facsimile of the Misfits. The Undead are nothing more than a tribute band to mistaken identity. OR I COULD'VE JUST SAID THE UNDEAD FUCKIN' SUCK, AND BOOBY'S A FAGG. WHICHEVER YA WANT. DON'T GET FUCKIN' RIGHTEOUS WITH ME FOR WASTING SPACE WHEN SOME OF YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR ARGUMENTS LIMITED TO PRIVATE E-MAIL. GO, BLAG , GO. BLAG'S MY EVIL TWIN AND I LOVE HIM. NOBODY'S BEAT HIM DOWN YET AND HE KEEPS BAITING YOU PUSSIES INTO PLAYING HIS GAME WHICH YOU ALWAYS LOSE. HE KEEPS THE BIBLE INTERESTING AND ENTERTAINING. IF YA CAN'T TAKE THE HEAT...WELL BEND OVER CHICOS AND SAY "OOOWWWWW!" JUST LIKE BOOBY IN THE BACK-DOORWAY. IF YA'LL WANNA RUMBLE ANNA TUMBLE WELL COME ON DOWN TO MY HUMBLE ABODE WHERE I'LL KICK YER SISTER IN THE TEETH AND WHERE YA GONNA GO FOR A BLOWJOB THEN? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 7 Aug 1997 18:20:52 +0200 (CET) From: Blackacidevil Subject: Box Set If there is any fiend in Europe that can sell me new sealed box-set email me please ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 7 Aug 1997 13:02:08 -0400 (EDT) From: Thomas Bloomfield To: Brett Fama Dear Brett, I'm sorry I offended you. Please forgive me for talking about (god forbid!) MUSIC on the Bible. I should confine the discussion to trading bootlegs and models. I'm horrendously terrified that you'll kick my ass (you sound very tough), so let me explain. I don't recall making any comments about Danzig's size or looks or anything, simply because I don't give a fuck. I'm just disappointed that his talent is going to waste. If I wanted to listen to computer-generated noise, I'd pick up the other line when someone is using the modem. Why do I get the feeling that you're one of the handful of guys you see at shows that look like they're going to a Halloween party as Glenn Danzig? You were offended about my derogatory comments about homosexuals? I'm sorry. I'll try to be more sensitive to those of you who choose alternative lifestyles in the future. Or were you mad because I insulted Marylin Manson? But can I get serious for a minute? I understand your rapier-like wit and sense of sarcasm, but why would I want to get rid of the old Misfits albums? I think you're one of those people who like every song by a band simply because it's performed by that band. I don't think American Psycho is a masterpiece. After subsequent listenings, I've decided Mars Attacks is sub-par. That's beside the point. Yes, I think a pre-Danzig 4 show would be something to see. Friends who saw them play with Suicidal Tendencies and Metallica said it was incredible. My brother saw them with Type-O Negative. Type-O sucked (of course), but he said Danzig performed well. I can tell you what I think is funny. I think it's funny that because I talked about Danzig's downturn in talent, he should perform physical violence upon me. I think it's funny that you've never laid eyes on me, don't know me, and yet you're positive he could "beat the living hell (ooh, a cuss word!) out of me without even breaking a sweat." I didn't talk about his height, character or hobbies. I don't care who he can "beat the living hell out of." I just care that he's jumping on the technoqueer bandwagon. See, the problem with people like you is that you sit behind your little computer screen and throw vague threats at people who you know you'll never see, hence you'll never get knocked around by them (like back in high school when the men's water-polo team used to steal your lunch money). I know dressing up like Glenn, growing your fingernails long and listening to Ministry makes you feel tough. But this is the real world. The Misfits are a BAND. They aren't something that was created so that people could buy action figures for Kryst sake. They're there to play music. I could care less about who could beat up who. Your whining and idle threats remind me of when those lipstick-wearing fags Axl Rose and Vince Neil were having a little tiff and wanted to settle it in a boxing ring. They both knew they weren't going to get hurt. That's what motivates you. So reread my last post. I didn't insult Glenn's looks, height, age, hair color, gender, race, creed, color, religion or anything else. I insulted his ability to play real music. I hope this clears up our misunderstanding. I hope you don't come looking for me, I'm sure you're a very tough customer. I can tell by the way you type! Unfortunetly, I won't be able to hear your response because I won't be near a computer for the next month. Too bad, I'm sure you'd tell me how the technician for the Spice Girls is going to beat me up. Wait a second. It's on Showtime at 9 p.m. (CST) Sundays. Here's a brief description from the July 18th edition of the Chicago Sun-Times: "Director Ridley Scott teams with filmmaking brother Tony Scott as executive producers of `The Hunger,' their first weekly cable TV series...[T]he Scott project establishes a tone of dark eroticism with macabre situations in eerie settings. Aimed at adults with a taste for unconventional sensations, the tingling `Hunger' feeds on a mixed diet of story ideas from `Alfred Hitchcock Presents,' `The Legacy,' `Red Shoe Diaries' and `The Outer Limits.' Terence Stamp suggests a dangerous supernatural presence as the diabolical host of each half-hour psychodrama in the visually striking anthology. One expects bold images from Ridley Scott, who filmed `Blade Runner' and `Alien.' Tony Scott's 1983 vampire feast `The Hunger' gave the British brothers a title for their kinky anthology." I haven't had the chance to watch an episode yet, but the series sounds cool. Does anyfiend know if the 1983 vampire flick was the inspiration for the Misfits' song "The Hunger"? By the time you fiends read this, I will have seen the Misfits in concert again. Here's hoping that they're tighter than they were the last time I saw them live. Woah-Oh-Oh! Hello fiends... first off i would like to apologize for the following, but it is needed since i have had enough of this constant bashing in recent days of Bobby Steele, Brett, Tim and myself. Well Blag I guess you are probably waiting for this, i can just see you searching the bible for any mention of your name. Hoping that you could start a new fight with some other fiend that does not agree with your warped and senseless ideas. I see you have resorted to name calling as usual, so patheticlly predictable. You claim that "I(you, since other wise you would not understand your own quote) am one of the few True fiends that posts on here(bible)" You a TRUE fiend, that is actually funny, you made a funny. Good for you. And being such a TRUE fiend where have you shared or contributed on the bible or Misfits Central? I don't seem to recall you ever having anything worth while to say since you first posted. Do you collect? You know i have never noticed your name up on the collectors list on Misfits Central either. Have you seen the Misfits at any of the shows last year or this year? Have you ever seen Danzig on tour from 1988 - 1997? Your such a TRUE fiend that in 10 years you had to have seen something. You also say that everything you have said is fact or truth. Yet not once have you ever given an answer to why you hate Bobby, when you saw him and where. Since Bobby could show where he has been with all sorts of bills, check statements and such for years of his touring. You would think that you would want to prove for a fact that he was in your state when you claim you ment him. Now you claim that i'm mad at you since i supposedly want you. Now why would i want you ? You are very unintelligent, you make bogus claims, you seem very jealous of Bobby Steele, Brett, and Tim. Plus your a poor excuse for a Fiend. I think i have better taste than that, plus You hate someone I like, and I would pick Bobby Steele over you any day. At least he's smart and talented. Your lucky if you can complete a whole sentense. I see you have somemore name calling for me, plus Maroon is a color if you look it up. You need to ask your Mommy to buy you a new dictionary. Now you claim that i'm a fake fiend. Wow, i just don't know what to say. I guess all these years of listening to the Misfits, Samhain and Danzig, collecting the records, meeting and hanging out with most of the band members, being a horror kid as long as i have and contributing as much as i can to the Bible and Misfits Central for the past 1 1/2 years just does not honor me to be a TRUE FIEND as you seem to think you are. And to think I thought i was a fiend for the past 10 years or so. I must be missing something. Damn, you seem to know all the horror connections to the Misfits too, maybe you should run this years Halloween Horror Trivia Constest. Though i think the other fiends would be very disappointed. Especially since last years grand prize is something i doubt you could ever match. An autographed alternate sleeve from Horror Business is nothing to sneeze at. Also if i remember correctly you did not answer any questions last year either. Well i guess you ended your post in your usual way, something stupid and refering to low life, about a pimp. You must be hoping that i get upset or yell at you, right? What is there to yell at, who the hell yells at flys? I usually ask for a fly swatter from Bobby, though as i had said earlier he is on a small vacation and well deserved. I guess it is time to just act naturally in the true fiendish way. Lets rip this sucker wigs off and smash it a couple times under my shoe. the only way to really see a the guts and stuff. Blag, i would say have a nice day, though i doubt you would understand the meaning of that. Death, well i'm sure Brett and Tim can take care of that for me. I don't usually comment on non-Misfits issues, but this was right on. Hey Justin, I think I was too hard on you last year about your out-of-place posts. Sorry. Also, thanks for putting the "From Hell They Came..." page together. While I'm on the subject - AZ was kind enough to send me a preview copy of "From Hell They Came..." (thanks buddy!) and I have it right here in front of me. I listened to it last night, and was very impressed. Like Jake Starr's "4 Hits From Mars" 7", this album captures the raw energy that the Misfits had in a way that other tributes I have heard don't. One great thing about this compilation is that it features bands that we've all heard about on the bible for years now. I recognized a lot of these tracks from copies of demos that the bands had sent me, especially Bane and Devilock. Some of this stuff was recorded several years ago, before the time of widely available, mostly accurate Misfits lyrics, and I know that some of the tracks were originally intended for the late Evil Don Deiffenbach's tribute tape from '94. I haven't listened to the whole CD yet, but it was nice to hear the "4 Hits From Mars" tracks on CD, and I thought the tracks by 138 and Grave Robbers From Out Of Space were great. I also really liked the SpineTingler track. I was glad to see that one of the best cover versions I've ever heard (Solefish's "Where Eagles Dare") finally made it to an album somewhere. My only wish is that the album had 38 DIFFERENT tracks... but I guess that would have been more difficult to pull off. Buy this CD! You can order it from Art Zawodny himself. He obviously put a TON of work into this thing, as did Keith Noss of Devilock. I believe there are 500 cpoies of this in a one-time press. Contact: Art Zawodny . PO Box 210 . As many of you know, the Misfits handle all merchandise orders themselves, through the PO Box 310 address. When they're on the road, this causes some problems, because people often have to wait up to a few months at a time for their order to be filled. This problem has been partially solved. Corey Fair, the Misfits t-shirts guy since '95 (I know some of you have met him), now has his own web site with an online catalog of Misfits shirts. These shirts can now be ordered directly from him. This is the way Jerry and Corey plan to run things. Corey's page is located at: http://www.soulsablaze.com/mainmenu.htm - he has photos of the front and back art for all shirts available, and even has some new shirts up not available at the shows (mostly reproductions of old bootleg shirts). Hey. If I FRAUDULENTLY used the name of a famous band I would be traveling the world too. > Mr. Only can also keep a band together. For a whole 2 years, so far. Wow ! he must be God. I wonder why Rocky called me last year and asked me to take over the guitar slot. I wonder why so many of Doyle's frineds tell me he's being coerced into playing for Jerry - when he'd much rather stay home with his wife and new baby. Mr. Only did squat for 13 years. Oh sorry. He had that phenominal metal act KRYST THE CONQUERROR - which he sunk $250,000.00 into and it didn't sell one tenth the number of copies as the UNDEAD album you described earlier. > So yes, Booby is friendly and easy-going. I can tell you never met me. > He's got to be. He's only >got one thing going for him-- his brief stint in a legendary band that >he was thrown out of. I'd be nice as hell to the band's fans, too if I >were him-- he needs all the fans/friends he can get. I'd be nice to the fans too, if I needed to keep them from believing that I was scamming millions from them and the people who actually played on the record. > Booby wasn't there at the beginning or the end of the Misfits. Jerry >Only was. Glen Danzig was. Danzig went on to other things, Jerry >wanted to keep the band going. Jerry wanted to do another metal band. It failed, and he discovered that no one wanted him - unless he could deliver something called THE MISFITS. This is documented, in his own words, in JERSEY BEAT #40. Since THE MISFITS, I have succeeded with THE UNDEAD - even when candy assed pussies couldn't take the heat, I found ways to keep it going - doing whatever it took to deliver my music to my fans. With only 2 full length albums that have sold close to 100,000 copies without ever being on a label nearly as big as CAROLINE . . . or GEFFEN, and recorded for mere peanuts - as compared to those other guys; I'd say I've done pretty well. >Both Glen and Jerry have been successful >in achieving their goals-- Booby has not. Duhhh ? Up until this phoney reunion, Glenn and Bobby were the ones with the records being sold in stores, worldwide, and getting airplay. The other guy was making knives in his daddy's factory - the only job he could ever get. >The newfits are a reasonable facsimile of the Misfits. YES! I agree. A "reasonable facsimile". You said it, not me. > The Undead are nothing more than a tribute band to mistaken identity. THE UNDEAD are a band that people can relate to. THE UNDEAD is a fun band, that happens to mix a little insight with the laughs. THE UNDEAD laughs at ignorant wannabe fools who want to dictate what a REAL PUNK band should, and should not do. I break the rules. I use machines to replace humans - and succeed to the egree that even my detractors have been fooled into saying it's a GREAT NEW BAND. D.I.Y. . . . isn't that what it's all about ? > OR I COULD'VE JUST SAID THE UNDEAD FUCKIN' SUCK, AND BOOBY'S A FAGG. >WHICHEVER YA WANT. DON'T GET FUCKIN' RIGHTEOUS WITH ME FOR WASTING >SPACE WHEN SOME OF YOU CAN'T KEEP YOUR ARGUMENTS LIMITED TO PRIVATE >E-MAIL. > > GO, BLAG , GO. BLAG'S MY EVIL TWIN AND I LOVE HIM. N
