I mean, they're glorifying the fact that Sammy FANG is a murderer. I just don't see anything 'cool' about that. I also found out it cost $25.00 to get in. So, unless you were into seeing a bunch of bands that are better known for everything but their music - it woulda been a ripoff. I don't even think the promoter knows who THE UNDEAD are. He probably just thought the "name" was cool. RE: the CHAMELEON CLUB; THE UNDEAD has played there in the past (though, for some odd reason, they don't seem interested anymore - even though we did bring about 500 people to every show). The sound system is really good, but the monitors aren't the greatest. What's this got to do with THE MISFITS backing out ? The mothers play so fuckin loud that they can't hear each other if the monitors aren't blowing the stage apart. Why do you think all the old boots sound so bad ? We couldn't hear shit ! Of course, they could turn down their stage volume, and still do a great set, but I know Jerry has never been able to turn his amp lower than 10. Without really good monitors, Michale can't hear himself and WILL strain his voice in an attempt to hear himself. It happens to me all the time. If their contract specified a certain amount of power on the monitors . . . and the club didn't provide it . . . we can't blame THE MISFITS. If it's not specified - they should just make do with what they have. In the end, they played that show. As far as Boston goes . . . I don't know yet. Probably not, though. The MIDDLE EAST never returned any calls in the past, and the RAT never seems to get their shit together. New York is doubtful, too. I was hoping for CB's or the BANK, but CB's blew off my agent (wait'll Hilly hears about that, 'cause I know he wants us there) and the BANK wants to put us on a Thursday night. I also just wanted to point out that I've never once slagged Glenn Danzig off on the Bible... I got into the Misfits via his music and therefore, in part, agree with your comments. Although I would say that without Jerry being there in the first place it's unlikely either of them would be as well known as they are today, let's face it, the original Misfits spawned at least three other great bands so why bitch about who started it all? As for being in Glenn's shadow... hmm, in some ways yeah, I mean, Jerry will never write a 'Sistinas' or 'Am I Demon' but Jerry's currently on Geffen and touring the World. This isn't meant nastily, but does Glenn even have a deal at the moment? Also, for anyone interested, John Tempesta from White Zombie is now playing for the new version of Prong. Apparently their tour starts late October in the States with the bass player from Filter and a guitar/keyboard player from Skrew. Whether this means Tommy Victor is out of Danzig already I don't know. I thought the Danzig/Victor partnership would either end after a few months or produce a ridiculously good album... looks like the former unfortunately. If anyone knows otherwise, it'd be good to hear what's happened with that. I don't think it was CHUD, cuz people on here said that he's like 5'8" and I easily stand 6'1" in my combat boots, and this guy towered over me. He was talking to the sales guy like he knew him well or something, which made me wonder if it really WAS Chud. I dunno. Oh well. And I was also wondering, do the Fits dye their hair? It would be one crazy coincidence if all their hair was naturally that black. Almost every misfit has had black hair right? With the exceptions of Googy with his blonde hair, Franche'(brown), and Jerry when his was blue. Correct me if I'm wrong. Oh, you jerry bashers will get a kick out of this... I was at band practice, and I brought "AP" One of my guitarists looked at it and said, "Jerry looks like a pussy. Is he losing his hair?!" He also said, "What the hell does Michale have on his face?!" I just kinda chuckled. I'm not one of those people who will say i hate jerry, cuz he's one of the main reasons I got to see my favorite band in concert. Glenn, of course, being the other main reason. And, if you hate mike and jerry so much, don't go to the shows, buy the albums, or pay any attention to the people who praise Jerry on here. Me and my buddy from HS, Mike Tommyrot and Mike Dickinson from Abalienation(he knows my bud Mike T.-I'd never met him before,and I'm pleased to say he is an extremely cool human.) went down and got there early. We also met with some other really great people from the upstate NY area. When the doors finaly opened at 9 o'clock(1 hr. late), me and Mike T. staked out some prime real estate in front of the stage. Too bad the speakers were 6 inches from my left ear. After much farting around, Maximum Penalty came on. They were good, but I am a NYHC fan, so...then Marky Ramone and the Intruders came on. They were fun. They played some Ramones' songs, the ones that Marky wrote. Then, special guests Sheer Terror came on. I'd never heard of them, but Mike had, and he said that Paul Bearer and the bass player were the only original guys, the other two being new additions. PB was abrasive and funny, but I don't really dig their special brand of music. Finally, the Misfits came on. Jerry was wearing real boots with his crazy Manowar spiked leggings, I am proud to say. What else can I say? They rocked. It was a blast. I took 20 pictures, but later I realized that I had used the wrong kind of film, so only 3 came out good enough to put on my web page. I was surprised that they played We Bite. They also played She, Theme for a Jackal, and some other oldies. After the show, I talked to Jerry. He said that they will be going to Hawaii and Japan later in the year. Jerry was great, especially while dealing with the horde of 9-14 year olds that showed up at the show. I also talked to Chud for a few seconds, and he was great, also. His jacket has to be one of the neater jackets I've seen in a long time. By the time the show was over, it was 2 am, so when I went to the Winnebago to get Mike and Doyle's sigs on my AP b'n'w picture of the band, Doyle was BEAT. He looked exhausted, and so I didn't wanna bug him too much, besides telling him he did great, and getting his John Hancock. Mike also obliged me, but he was cooking something up, so I left him alone, also. Then I went home. I just moved from Japan to Hawaii, and so I can't wait to see them again. Hollywood Records is owned by Walt Disney Inc., and is under pressure from the boycott and censorship campaiigns aimed at them by right-wing Christian groups like the AFA, The Southern Baptist Convention, and Focus On The Family. What we need to do is to inform the record label that we support Glenn and we support freedom of speech, and that they should tell these bible thumpers to read the constitution. Regardless of what happens between Danzig and Hollywood, Danzig will continue to put albums out even if he has to do it himself. I may not care for his music nowadays, but Glenn has the strongest DIY eithic I've seen. Some may call him an asshole but he does what he wants to do and he doesn't care what others think, and that, in my opinion, is admirable. What you have is a facsimile bootleg of an original record; that is, someone pressed copies of an old Misfits record and printed up the cover to look almost exactly the same as the original, in hopes of suckering Misfits fans out of money. Not everybody will change the logo to say "Plan 69" or whatever, but one quick 'n' dirty way to recognize a bootleg is that most have blank labels on the vinyl. Hopefully you didn't spend too much on it. I used to buy those things back before the Box Set came out, when you couldn't get some of the Misfits' old songs; now I question whether there's really a reason to buy them, unless you only have a record player and not a CD player. First up, have any of you US based Bible-ites ever heard a UK band called The Meteors? I just wondered because they've been going for years and always struck me as being like the British version of the Misfits. I also happen to know the singer/guitar player as he has a house in my town, I mentioned it to him and he *claimed* they'd met the Misfits, with Glenn, years ago in the States. They have a similar image, but less overt and play what they call 'psychobilly' music (basically 50's rock 'n' roll mixed with punk... sound familiar?). They also have a fan base collective with a distinctive name, the Kattle. I don't think I've seen them mentioned on the Bible. Anyway, just curious... Secondly, is anyone else a little concerned at the Misfits playing with Gwar? I mean, if ever there was a band that are going nowhere, are basically a one joke bag of tricks and who have zilch musical credibility then it'd have to be Gwar (and there's no need for you genius's out there to post "a perfect match then" for the next two weeks!). Lastly, Arlo: if you feel the need to (a) go into lenghty unsolicited descriptions of your tattoos and (b) imply that because they hurt they show some kind of bravery or strength then I'm afraid you got them for the wrong reasons. I don't mean that as an insult (at least, please don't take it as such), it's just I get touchy when people with tattoos start 'using' them to back up arguments etc. When you talk about tattoos, what you say reflects on everyone with tattoos... it's worth bearing in mind.
