Re: Where is my bible... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Thu, 21 Nov 1996 20:55:29 PST Subject: THERE AIN'T NO SANITY CLAUSE From: undead@juno.com (Bobby Steele) Fiends, I sent out a post a few days ago about the upcoming TIMES SQUARE show at CBGB's on Saturday, November 30. Originally, this show was gonna be filmed for a documentary about female boxers, but they've had to postpone the shoot. The gig is still on and we'll be playing at 11pm. I know a lot of you will be coming in to New York that day to try to meet Glenn. Come down to CBGB's afterward and show us some support. Tell Glenn to come down - if he aint scared ; ) Here's something of interest to any tattoo fanatics out there: MARC RUDE is available, in the New York area until January '97 - for tattoos. Yeah. You can get custom artwork on your body from the same guy that designed lots of great album covers, including THE MISFITS. If you're interested; call him at 212 473-1877. >From: drodrigu@acme.highpoint.edu (Daniel Rodrigues) >Subject: Trouble Makers > >>From: undead@juno.com (Bobby Steele) >>by JERRY ONLY. Most of you have heard this bootleg. >There is no doubt that is Jerry . I dont know why it has to be like this, >bobby. I always read about and hear about how jerry wants to talk to >Glenn and make up, cuz it should just be about music and nuthin else. Yeah. As far as I can see; it's all talk. I've asked Jerry to set this straight, and he's refused. That could make him culpable if any further harm comes to me because of this. (MR SEGAL ?) > >> At this point, it's starting >>to look as if Glenn would be on my side in this argument. > >I dont think Glenn would be on anyones side on this. The idea of Glenn >ever getting involved ended when he signed over those tapes. The question still exists as to whether Glenn had the right to 'sign over those tapes" without the permission of me and Joey also. What I meant to say was that Glenn may be pissed enough at Jerry, at this point, that he might actually back me up on some of these points. After all; his hatred toward me was based, solely, on Jerry's con act. >But I am >gonna say that you have been the bigger man about this. When I met >you at the action park show you were very nice to all the guys. That's because THEY had nothing to do with what Jerry did to me and THE MISFITS. They're great guys - from what I've seen. >I talked to both >Michale and CHUD about you and they both have no problems with you and >, as a matter of fact they think you are very nice. I watched you sseek >out Doyle that night and talk tto Jerry. Actually, I avoided Jerry, but did happen to exchange a few words when I bumped into him. I can't take listening to his phoney-baloney lies. I mainly wanted to talk with Doyle about his guitar, and to compliment him on his vast improvement - not to mention; I wanted to see if his wife had any more chocolate (she makes great chocolate). > I watched as you and Steve Zing argued , Actually, it wasn't an argument. It was just a lot of "what ? I can't hear ya", so we walked off to where it was quieter. > then took it off in private and came back friendly. I wish we >could get Steve Zing in here to talk about all this. It seems to me like >he was around and sort doesnt side with any one so he could be very >impartial. Yeah. Steve knows a lot. He can vouch for the fact that I approached Jerry about suing Glenn in 1985. > But Bobby lets say Jerry came out and apologized with you. >What then would you want him to do? Put as much affort into saving my reputation, as was put into destroying it. Make a series of pulic announcements declaring that all that talk of me being a fuck up and homosexual was bullshit, and anyone who still beleives it is an asshole - and to stop harassing me. I think some minimal stipend - to compensate for the damage to my career would be nice ( .5% of Merchandise royalties). > What do you think would happen? Jerry doesn't have the courage to admit his mistakes >Are you expecting to get back in the band? NO ! I have TWO excellent bands already. > . . . but that is kryst! That is the only >place it belongs. It doesnt belong in any misfits set. Michale knows >that, doyle knows that , and chud knows that, but I dont think jerry >knows that. As I said. >. And I just think >that maybe they didnt like Bobby. I mean didnt just Glenn and jerry >together all the time, and you bobby hung out with a different crowd. Glenn and Jerry rarely hung out - as compared to me. They didn't like my friends - who were real punks. When we played Max's, I got my own dressing room. >think that it is stupid to think jerry would have more powere cause he >didnt write the music! This was merely a suspicion I had after reading countless interviews, and putting it all together. CG has confirmed that Jerry has admitted to doing just that. I guess, in his quest for power, he forgot who the brains behindf THE MISFITS was. >When I hung out with you Bobby I thought you seemed like a normal guy a >very nice guy. I occaisionally read High TImes. I remember her asking me those questions that were attributed to Michale. Although I didn't say that I think everyone should be allowed to smoke, I did say that it's about time it was allowed for prescription use - just as any other drug. I've offered my services for any medical marijuana benefits. Beleive it or not, the editor of HT is Straight Edge, but he was so struck by the facts of medical marijuana that he couldn't resist getting involved in such a good cause. I believe that pot should be legalized for medical purposes immediately. It is a violation of federal law to continue with this prohibition. Our government has already acknowledged the fact that marijuana has legitimate medical qualities. The DEA has refused to comply with the recommendations of their own Administrative Judge. Marijuana was outlawed as part of one of the biggest political scandals of all time. If Bill Clinton really "felt (our) pain" he would change that law himself. >i would like to drop a line about the nazi stuff on the bible: >in italy it's ILLEGAL by constitution to reform or to be part of >related to the old fascist party: The most intelligent thing Italy has done since inventing the PIZZA ; ) (except for CICCIOLINA) BTW . . . did you get your prize package yet ? >signing some autographs after a show. I just got off the Phone with Tom, at Caroline. It seems like they've been trying to get Jerry to release the ORIGINAL X-MAS tape (with MY guitar), but he's been very reluctant; so now they want to hear my live recordings from '79. At this point, these seem to be the only existing "fully intact" tapes of THE MISFITS from this era. Many of the songs from these two shows were not done for the X-mas show. It's about 20 minutes worth of different songs (some of the songs appear twice). If we were to combine this show with the X-mas show we'd have a killer collection. >From: "D.ETH" Subject: Texas is the >reason that the President's dead >doing so you have mid-wifed a new monster into the Bible (or perhaps >resussitated an old one), the dreaded Bobby vs. Jerry demon. I heard it may be February That song list from a few issues ago was real. A lot of those songs were written at the beginning of 1996, but haven't been played live yet. There are still other songs they have written that they haven't recorded or even mentioned. I doubt that the setlist will be exactly was it was listed, but most of those songs will probably be on the album. Right now the band is working on it and wants to have it done by February so that Geffen can put it out by May when they tour Europe again. As far as the Fiend Club goes, they haven't sent anything out since July, and that was just a postcard to certain regions of the US. They were supposedly at work on a newsletter, but I'm not sure at this point. ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 22 Nov 1996 01:25:15 -0500 From: "John 'I'm Going to a Danzig Concert, eventually' Smarsh" Subject: Re: Misfits Bible, #260 > I'm a 12 year old boy who is a big Misfits fan. How many of us would never have started to listen to the Misfits if it wasn't our love of the band Danzig? Michale's off base if he says "Fuck Glenn Danzig" and doesn't really know who he is, and what he started. I've said it before people, would the Misfits have been started WITHOUT Glenn? I'll be damned if I'd step in the shoes and take over a famous band, and then insult the guy who started it! That's like taking over Metallica, kicking James Hetfield out, getting up on stage, singing his songs, and then saying "Fuck James Hetfield" to everyone in attendance. Cut it out, guys. You especially Michale. Sorry, but I'm in a bitchy mood, and hate ignorant people. So I had to say what was on my mind. Cannibal Corpse was one of the WORST freakin' bands I ever saw(and I seen shome SHIT), and anthrax were corny as hell in their own special way. Why don't they tour with one of the other American punk bands of their era? The Descendants are on the road right now. The Meatmen are still together. And how about FEAR? I don't know about you, but a Misfits/Fear double bill would be a dream come true for me. The point is, the Misfits' original auidence was the punk audience. If you look at old 'Fits videos, you won't see a bunch of long-haired headbangers, you'll see short spiky hair or shaved head. The only reasons the metal crowd got into the 'Fits was the metallica thing and the danzig connection(not sayin' that's bad, that's where i first heard em). It was Meticalla's turn to play and they played the Misfit's song "Last Caress". and earlier this week I found a version of "attitude" done by Guns and Roses on the Spaghetti Incident album. Both songs were the best works I've heard by either bands, Metallica's version was better than the Misfits (in my opinion) but Guns and Roses fell short even though it was still very good. All of my vinyl has been found! All my original 7"s, 10"s, and 12"s. And I am not moving (this being the bad news.) This is one of the largest selections of punk rock that anyone has ever seen. Only Wax Trax and Bleeker Bob's can beat me! Just kidding, it's not THAT big. But I own over 30 'Fits boots, 8 Samhain boots, and about 6 early Danzig boots. Oh, and I will probably be selling the 4p LP when I get it back. IF anyone is willing to pay for it, let me know. I bought it at Wax Trax II in Denver (the used store) for pretty cheap, and it has a few scuffs on the jacket, but that was due to cheap cardboard in the jacket, not really wear and tear. Anyway, I don't want it. And I'll have the gold Earth AD again, better hang onto it, I guess? About "(I'm Not Your) Stepping Stone". It was originally written by two folk singers, who in turn sold it to Screen Gems, producers of the TV show The Monkess. The Monkees made it famous, The Sex Pistols covered it in the early days, and actually put it on The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle. When Minor Threat covered it, they thought they were covering a Sex Pistols song, but kept playing it after they found out it was a Monkees song. Incidentally, has anyone ever noticed Minor Threat are one of the VERY few bands that do not have the word The before their name?! I mean it COULD work but it doesn't sound right. >Re: Comparing Les Claypool and Jerry Only This is from the movie Empire Records. Of course, this script was written by someone who may have seen the Evilive poster on Saved By the Bell and saw Metallica wearing a t-shirt on the last CD or whatnot, and this being all they knew of our favourite band. They were arguing over whether Jerry or Les Claypool (of Primus) were a better bass player. Sorry Jerry, but... Hey don't worry, I was once accused of sounding worse than Doyle did at the Al's Bar '82 Show. Of course I was 15, drunk, stoned, and speeding, so... And speaking of the early shows...I have noticed many of you have said things to the extent of "I heard a bootleg CD of The "new" Misfits and Michale sounds like shit." OK, this may be true (I still have not seen or heard them) BUT, I am willing to bet that those of you who said this have not heard any of the bootlegs after Bobby left. The guitar was just, in one word...horrible. You're lucky if Glenn sang every other line, sometimes missing entire verses or choruses. Could someone PLEASE explain why Evilive sounds so damn good?! I swear this entire live album was overdubbed in the studio. One of the reasons for this, of course, was that almost all of the songs were being played at twice, and sometimes FASTER!!! than the original speed. In essence giving more energy while totally and utterly giving up technique. Although, I will admit that Halloween sounded really good on the XMas '81 Passaic, NJ show. (For those of you who are not familiar with every single show the band played before their demise, the guitar went completely out right about the time Glenn sang "Bonfires burning bright", and came back in at the very end of the song.) This is the reason why I honestly asked about 50 or 60 issues back, 'Has Doyle learned to play yet?' Given the fact that it's been 13 years, I believe he has. OK, I'm done. I'll do some more bitching in a week or so, I'm sure. It had a little picture of the Misfits on the right hand side and a two page interview with Jerry Only. Then I picked up a copy of Ill Literature #12 and was even more surprised to see a 5 page interview with each of the four band members and a full page picture of Doyle jamming. Jerry's interview is the longest but the best has got to be Doyle's. Maybe because there aren't many interviews with Doyle. I won't go into detail on the two articles but I must say that they do answer many questions. From the custom made guitars, to legal battles, to Doyle's account of the infamous San Francisco incident (where Doyle accidentally hit a kid in the head with his guitar, it's all there. One interesting thing I read is Jerry Only's feelings for Metallica. Jerry says that part of the reason the Kryst the Conqueror full- length never came out is because he gave a copy of the cassette to James and Kirk of Metallica along with two guitars that he made. The cassette contained a song written by Jerry called "Wherever I Roam". Later on Metallica released a song called "Wherever I May Roam" and then went on to call their world wide tour by the same name. Jerry says that Metallica did not steal the song but stole his idea so rather than living in Metallica's shadow or whining about the alleged theft he decided not to release the album. I know that YOU CAN NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU READ so I was wondering if anyone had heard this. One last thing before I go. It may interest some of you to know that Doyle wrote "Talons of Steel" and it is about Alien Invasion. "Blacklight" is about vampirism. "Dead Kings Rise" is about Glenn ripping the guys off and them coming back and taking it all. The guy who wrote the Ill Literature article say he also has a full length interview with Jerry which was supposedly the first to announce the Misfits reunion. It is from his old magazine FeH. It was THE punk cover for a long time (one of the easiest songs to play ever written). Vinyl: is not necessarily a better listening experience, but definitely better art and liner notes. And colored vinyl is very cool. Vinyl is also cool because, despite concerted efforts by the major record labels to kill it, it has survived. This is because people like it and are not brainwashed by the record industry's need to create new formats/profit centers so they can sell you the same music over and over again. Hate speech: Hate speech cannot be banned. Only speech likely to incite imminent violence or lawlessless may be outright banned. Since the Chaplinsky decision, a long time ago, virutally no speech has been successfully banned on this basis. You really have to direct a crowd of people to go kill and mame to have your speech banned. Ironically, hate-motivated crimes may receive a sentencing enhancement. This has been justified as a limitation on "conduct" not "speech." Hmmmm (?). Danzig 5: It does get better with more listens. For me, this usually means I will not get bored with a record as quickly as one that is instantly accessible. They are hoping to include 17 to 18 songs on the album, and already have more than 30 to choose from. The album will is tentatively titled DEAD KINGS RISE and will hopefully be released on April 8th. All 4 band members and Daniel Ray took a vote last week on their top song choices for the next album. Here are the results: DEAD KINGS RISE --------------- 1 The Hunger 2 From Hell They Came 3 Blacklight 4 Resurrection 5 Speak Of The Devil 6 The Haunting 7 Dead Kings Rise 8 Walk Among Us 9 Dig Up Her Bones 10 American Psycho 11 This Island Earth 12 Mars Attacks 13 Don't Open Till Doomsday 14 The Death Of The Fallen Angel (written by Jerry) 15 Hate The Living, Love The Dead (written by Dr. Chud) 16 The Crimson Ghost (written by Dr. Chud) 17 Day Of The Dead (written by Doyle) Below is a list of some songs that probably won't make the album. Songs on this list will probably never be on ANY Misfits album and will probably never be performed live. Talons Of Steel (written by Doyle) Dr. Phibes Rises Again (intro may be used on album) The Creeps (written by Doyle) Till It's Gone (written by Jerry) Ghost Riders (may be re-written) Hellraiser (formerly titled Beware) Pit And The Pendulum (written by Jerry) No Guts, No Glory (a song that had been in Jerry's head for years) The Enemy (written by Michale) Pledge Of Vengeance (written by Dr. Chud and Doyle) Blue Skin Black Moon Rising (written by Jerry) Army Of The Dead The Dead Lie Of Air (written by Jerry) The band also began practicing 2 new songs today (Tuesday 11/26/96) that may make it to the album. They are: Shining (written by Michale Graves) Angel Baby (written by Jerry) There's also another song currently in the works called "Witch Hunt." Finally, Jerry mentioned that the band fully supports Jimmy Hart's use of the Crimson Ghost logo. Apparently he (Hart) cut the design from a Misfits shirt and put it on his jacket. So if you're watching WCW wrestling one night, don't be surprised if you see the CG. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 25 Nov 1996 19:15:37 PST Subject: LIVE MISFITS ? Caroline has shown interest in the tapes that I have. If these come out, you'll see - once and for all - that we were a fun band . . . extremely sloppy and unprofessional . . . but FUN. I isn't easy keeping it together when all you can hear is the ROARRRR of jerry's bass amp and nothing else to clue you in to the timing of the song. this is one of the awful ironies of live recording. It seems like you never record the good shows. >Could someone PLEASE explain why Evilive sounds so damn good?! I >swear >entire live album was overdubbed in the studio. You may be right. There IS a bootleg of that same show . . . called ATTITUDE. Someone should do a comparison. >'Has Doyle learned to play yet?' He's doin' fine by me. They didn't like my > friends - who were real punks. When we played Max's, I got my own > dressing room. Yup thats pretty much tha troooth. Glenn and Jerry DID hang out together a lot, but Glenn also had his own set of friends. Bobby was more of a 'punk scene guy', he was the one that would always be at whatever club was happening at the time (of course, I would be there first! :) jk Bobby) with the happening band ppl of the moment. Okay, maybe that makes him look a little superficial, but cool is cool. The ppl who were cool then are still pretty goddam cool in my opin. Hard to believe too, but the Misfits were NOT a popular band or considered cool at the time. they did attract an element that was a little unsavory as a rule. And as for the rest of the reports of 'early punk scene' life at the time, there was a lot of pot smoking going on too. Lots of pills too, but NO HEROIN~!!!! no matter what revisionists like Roderick McNeil swear. Basically there just wasnt a lot of money around for that kind of thing really. It wasnt unusual at ALL to see a spiky topped Easter chick looking kid smokin a doob at the time. That Minor Threat -SOA-Teen Idles sXe stuff came later. and then Bobby sez... > confused as to who said what. I occaisionally read High TImes. I remember > her asking me those questions that were attributed to Michale. > Although I didn't say that I think everyone should be allowed to smoke, > I did say that it's about time it was allowed for prescription use - just > as any other drug. I've offered my services for any medical marijuana > benefits. Beleive it or not, the editor of HT is Straight Edge, but he > was so struck by the facts of medical marijuana that he couldn't resist > getting involved in such a good cause. I was told by the publisher of HT (also a non pot head) that Bobby would be interviewed for this issue, mainly having caught the eye of the editors because of his activity in the medical marijuana front. I gave this (reliable) info to MSK4m so he could spread the word. But Xena (the writer of that article) ws a little confused as to who was where when in the Misfits. Punk rock is obviously not her thing. He (the publisher) was very surprised when he read the finished interview. He felt that Bobby should have not been buried in the text. But he's the publisher, not the editor and just because he'd known Bobby for roughly 20 yrs was no reason to rewrite Xena's article for her. I read the article and even bought several copies, and I don't think that anything Michale said was so bad. Leave him alone. BTW I don't like drugs myself as they've cause a lot of pain to my family but I sure don't pass judgement in that regard. Whats right is right, and whats fair is fair. which brings us to...... My final word on the the Bobby vs. Jerry debate for the record. Jerry's the one who told me that shit happens, and shit happened to Bobby. I felt this was wrong. I was surprised but it, because I always felt that Jerry was a standup guy, and Bobby and I were'nt that close all those years ago. Bobby was a lot shyer then, and I was a lot MORE outspoken and opinionated ;) in those days. But having been told what I've been told by three of the parties directly involved, I believe that Bobby was wronged and Jerry should be the righteous man I remember from 1979 and shake hands and get over himself. It was wrong to lie about somebody in 1979 and its wrong to lie now in 1996. 'Be as your fancies teach you: what ere you be, I am obedient. There is a guy out in california named Rand, He designed the technical end of it, placement of frets, neck, etc... That's where the name came from, but they made the guitars right there at Proedge. The early ones were real shit heaps. I remember Jerry's bass had a fret about a cunt hair off, every time you hit that fret you would cringe. He also made what he called a Studio Bass. this was a a pretty nice guitar. I guess he made it so he didn't have to borrow the Jazz from Bobby anymore. Me! (I'm not your) Steppin' Stone, although originally recorded by the Monkees, was not written by Mickey Dolenz. The song was written by the famous songwritting team of Boyce & Hart. Boyce & Hart wrote the majority of Monkee hits. Steppin' Stone is a *very* popular cover. Johnny Thunders' Heartbreakers covered it prior to the Sex Pistols. I have a CD of this from early '77 live at CBGB's with Richard Hell playing bass. It is credited properly on this album as it is on Rock'n'Roll Swindle. Among other Monkee songwriters are Carole King who wrote 'Pleasant Valley Sunday' and Neil Diamond who penned 'I'm a believer'. A minor point of interest here, for those that live near the Oranges in New Jersey: Pleasant Valley Sunday was inspired by the street Pleasant Valley Way which connects Millburn with West Orange, which of course is where Carole King lived at the time. Why are so many of you so intolerant of such insignificant things? Almost a month ago I was watching Waxwork II on that Up All night show on USA. It was being hosted from a big vampire party at some club where all the vampires got together and listened to bands and stuff. Some guy was describing to the host of U.A.N. the diferent types of vampire. He came to this one guy and said something like, " This is a Misfits type vampire as in the band The Misfits." Of course the host had no idea what he was talking about, but I did. I'm having flashbacks to my youth! Aaaarrrghh!!!! Is that a Samson record I hear? Call Lars Ulrich. 'Blacklight' is one of my favourite Misfits tunes yet, as is 'The Haunting'. It seems like it's now trendy to attack the Fits again, but I'm not gonna jump on that bandwagon... the new stuff I've heard so far has been cool, apart from 'Dr.Phibes', which I'm really not too sure about just yet. I guess I'll reserve my judgement until I hear the record in it's entirety. Talking of which - now that I've given 'Blackacidevil' time to sink in.... I gotta say it's the best Danzig record by a MILE. What's the fuss about? Yes, it sounds a little different, in terms of performance, but the atmospherics, the lyrics, the attitude, are all Danzig to the core. It's a really evil sounding record... totally badass. The cool thing about the shop is that they deal primarily in vinyl (new and used), and ALL punk! Even the owner is a fiend! As a matter of fact, they wrote almost all of stuff for the Monkees. Outside of that, the only other thing I ever heard out of them was when I saw them on an episode of "Bewitched" and they were singing as a duo. I forget if it was a Monkees song or not. The song has been covered ad nauseum. Minor Threat did it. The Untouchables did it. And the Sex Pistols before them. And a million and one garage bands. I think it ranks right up there with "Louie Louie" and "Secret Agent Man" as one of the most covered songs. But Boyce and Hart wrote it. Anyways to get to the point someone mentioned (in a review of Danzig 5) that the new album was such a departure from his previous releases that he should have changed the name... later someone replied that changing the band's name was stupid because he changed the name to Danzig so that he would never have to change the name again... Well the reason I remember Glenny giving for changing the name to Danzig was that Rick Rubin said that it was a more marketable name than Samhain... I also recall Glenny saying that the Danzig lineup was basically what he wanted Samhain to be, but at the time Samhain formed Chuck was busy Circle Jerking and John was as of yet undiscovered... maybe he's given a different reason for the name change since then, but I remember reading this around '89-'90... can anyone else back me on this? ASCAP), and Hint of Her Blood. coding is PRCD-10657-2. the cover is the drawing that Glenn did of himself and the Danzig skull together as one. the back is the same but in a dark grey over black, white text. As fot the promo patches, they are black with white text - says Danzig and Blackacidevil. they are small rectangles. next - Jason, you have both Halloween and Samhain mixed together there, but you are close. Samhain is pronounced(not to be picky) sow-en which is Gaelic for summer's end. the link between Samhain and Halloween are several. one being the dressing up part was an imitation of fairies, G-ds and G-desses who were said to travel in the guise of mortals during Samhain, going from house to house seeking hospitality. if they were given such then they would bless the house, if not then they would wreak havoc on that house. there is a lot more about the holiday and how we came to Halloween, yet most people who seriously observe the holiday consider it a separate holiday from Halloween. Plus Samhain is never on the same day year to year. the way that Halloween is. Larry thank you and you must have noticed that Adam did not even post this time around!!! Matthew and D.eth - yes i think Misfits got to sox the cat, cause i be on December 5th when Bill lights the x-mas tree you will hear the cat going whoa whoa whoa as you can hear Hate Breaders playing softly in the backround. *WARNING THIS PERSON HAS HAD VERY LITTLE SLEEP IN THE PAST WEEK, HER BRAIN CAN BLOW AT ANY MINUTE* Itchy, you are probably right that it was a joke but you can never be to careful in this place. well its been a interesting one as usual. I can't be as HEAVY as Jerry is. I can't afford the food (sorry. I couldn't resist the pun). How can you say THE UNDEAD sucks, and I'M riding on THE MISFITS coattails - when EVERYBODY KNOWS that THE UNDEAD has sold a good amount of records, while Jerry's band, KRYST THE CONQUERROR (now known as THE MISFITS . . .) was a total failure. ACT YOUR RAGE - a punk record that came out when punk was very unpopular - received limitless good reviews; while DELIVER US FROM EVIL (that's Jerry's record - the one with the "features ex-MISFITS", but Bobby and Glenn are banking on the name -sticker) was slammed. In fact, that CD did so poorly that Jerry had to resort to using the name of a band, that he had previously put down, in order to acheive any success. To quote members of the DWARVES, when THE UNDEAD opened for them in Tampa, Fl in 1982 "It's an honor to be on a bill with a TRUE LEGEND" >shut up!!! but of course all you know how to do is boo hoo like a >girl, and all of you other jerry bashers can do the same, If anybody is bashing Jerry - it's of his own doing. He told lies about a person, and he's been made aware of the damage - yet he denies ever saying that. Are you stupid ? haven't you heard that bootleg ? It has been identified by many people as Jerry's voice - yet he says he never said it. This is how he respects YOU, his fan. He thinks you're so stupid that you can't tell when he lies. I don't want to see Jerry bashed here, but I do want Jerry to show some courage and dignity and stop cowering behind lies. I don't BOO HOO. I FIGHT BACK ! ! ! I also defend Jerry and Glenn when they're unjustly criticized in here. I fully stood behind Jerry when he did that show in Cleveland without Michale. I even debated it with CG - who thinks it was a big scam - for some time afterward. > I've met you >bobby in austin and yo uwere one of the biggest dorks i have ever met >and i met jerry in houston and he is one of the coolest guys i have met, >so go grabs some kleenex and wipe the tears away , you stupid >has-been. You met ME in Austin ? That's pretty fuckin' good - considering I've never been to Austin. MAybe this was the same "Bobby Steele" that was reported to have approached some punks, wearing UNDEAD t-shirts in Hudson County, NJ in 1990. THIS "Bobby Steele" told the kids "if ya wanna hear a really GOOD band, check out these guys" and he'd toss them a bunch of KRYST stickers. So what's your problem ? You know you couldn't have met me, but you come right on this page and LIE through your teeth. I know people in Austin, like TIM STEGALL, of THE HORMONES. He's a well known journalist also. He can tell you that I've never been down there. He can also vouch for my integrity. HAPPY FUCKIN' THANKSGIVING >From: "Whittle, Patrick R." >Subject: misfits/punk scene (fear tour?) >ps- what was that bobby said about MURDERING JERRY??? WHAT? i >hope that was a subtle joke on your part. >Are you talking about the interview where I was asked something like; >which MISFITS would you most like to kill?' and I replied "and when he >turns up dead, they come looking for ME?". I think it's an obvious joke. >pps- bobby, how come you never wrote back to the letter i sent you with >my charicature of bart and homer? :):):):):):) I get a lot of email. Sometimes, JUNO loses my shit. (ask Mark - he had to send last week's bible 4-times before it got through). If I get what looks like a chain letter . . . I just delete it. Some email is just a comment that doesn't spark a response from me. It's not like I just blew you off. Don't take offense. I'm overworked. >From: THX 1138 >Subject: Mars Attacks... >I saw the first commecial for Mars Attacks last night on Comedy >Central... Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close, Danny DeVito... this one's >gonns be weird, ya'll.... I've seen this commercial. This is gonna be good. It looks like it a parody of those bad 50's horror movies. It's a shame. Glenn woulda written the perfect MISFITs songs for this. I especially like the part where the old lady laughs when she sees the martians blow up congress. >From: AZawodny@mobile.bam.com >Subject: Yngwie Doyle >>Ken Ward said -> "This is the reason why I honestly asked about 50 or 60 >>issues back, 'Has Doyle learned to play yet?' >Yes he has. He plays the songs very well and . . . this aint the same >Doyle guitar playing we learned to cringe too on the old bootlegs. Stop judging Doyle on shit he did when he was 16. Put it in perspective. I sucked at that age too. >From: DANZIG8525@aol.com >Subject: My song for the Fits' >I was messing around the other day and I wrote this song for the band >that and i can write better shit then mr. only. > Anyways this the song, Pretty fuckin' good. Good luck with your band. >From: Andy Yuhnke >Subject: Danzig Name The story I heard on this was that there was dispute over the ownership of the SAMHAIN name. In one story; there was a European band that had been using the name prior to Glenn. In another story former members of Glenn's SAMHAIN were threatening to sue if Glenn continued using the name without them. >From: MR BENJAMIN W BARNARD >Subject: bible 261 >And let me say, >I am not qualified to comment on the Bobby Steele thing; but I do >have the bootleg where the inflammatory comments were made,. . . >My point being; people screw up, and hopefully, try to make it right...
