I bought a black vinyl Initium w/o Caroline name or address
and a black vinyl Samhain III w/ lyrics and pictures for $3.99
a piece at a store in Arlington, VA.
Granted I haven't shown these to any real athorities (Mark, EVB, J.Grimm)
but I'm almost positive none are boots.
It can happen.

thanks for the tip, dan! but actually, i've known about them for a

anyway, they're, as dan so appropriately put it, "pure, silly, little

First off, Chicago Fiends, in case you don't read the papers, the Danzig show
is NOT on Feb 11 anymore! It's been moved to FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14.
Valentine's Day! Now, I can see Danzig instead of sitting around and
wallowing in my self misery about not having a woman.

Stephen, out of curiosity, what color t-shirt and jeans were Glenn wearing?
I remember hearing the comment "this man has no colors in his closet", so if
it wasn't black, the band has lied! sniff sniff.

Hotcock's throwing the flames, I see. Actually, I NEVER take the attitude of
stomping someone for no reasons. I am actually one of the nice people who
hangs around for a while keeping my eyes on those who seem unable of taking
care of themselves.....normally first timers, who think the nickname of the
Brawlroom is a joke. I think it's strange that the only way you can insult
me is by not just warping, but making up a quote from me.

ADAMN--it's a boot poster, but I'd say it's a good deal. The cheapest I've
seen one for around here is $20.

Cresswell, I believe the guy who does Rollins' tattoos is Rick Spellman. At
least the back one. As far as Glenn, I have no idea.

Romual---RELAX! Are you trying to tell me you've never heard of a band
cancelling? I think Glenn was sick or something, and if not, that's a pretty
silly reason for turning on a band.

Dean---I'd suggest calling Rolling Stone about the instore. I really doubt
he'll be there, seeing as he was just there in November.

As a longtime member of the Church of Satan let me give you all the
official views.

#1 No we do not beleive in satan as an entity
#2 Satan represents ideas and things..such as indulgence..

Someone was saying real satanist s are nto this not that..Unfortunately its
a label that has to be defined. The LaVeyan satanic philosphy (church of
satan) beleives as I stated above.. LAVEYAN SATANISM.. There are a lot of
different groups out there.. sub divisions of the label satanism but all
very different..problem is ppl label it all satanism when none of it is at
all the same..

Also..the thing about everything changing when you join..no.. What happens
is smaller organizations will want you and then theyll form their own
beliefs or whatever bullshit they want...

NO GOD NO DEVIL in LaVeyan satanism.. to make it official now... the beleif
is youa re your own God and give respect where it is due... its of the
flesh..of the earth.. real.. nothing imagined.

I have this movie. I only watched it once. Basically A man and woman are
driving somewhere, their car breaks down, they get captured by a mummy
and a wolfman they are brought to Criswell and a fakey Vampira and are
forced to watch, One at a time, about 30 topless dancers, they escape
and destroy Criswell. The End. I remember only liking the second or
third dancer (the redhead?) This was around the time Ed Wood got into
making Porography. In the Movie "Look Back In Angora" a Ed Wood
biographgy, it tells his story and shows some scenes from one of his
porno films he was in. My favorite Ed Wood film is Bride of the Monster
and Night Of the Ghouls. (Night of the ghouls is a sequel!)

Ok - in my iterview, Glenn said that the name of his character is Samiel
(sp?? he pronounced it Sam I Ell) one of Christopher Walken's
archangels. His big scene is a fight with Russel Wong which he said is
more "just fighting" and not a lot of martial arts stuff.

I keep seeing people say that bootlegs are worth $0.00. Bullshit. Like
anything else, an item is worth whatever people are willing to pay for
it. I would say my old Froot Loops boxes my mom bought when I was a kid
are worth nothing, but there are a lot of people out there who'll pay big
bucks for them. I think the Fits boots of legit releases were probably
worth more before the Collections were released as they contained songs
that you just couldn't get anywhere else. But people are still willing
to pay for this stuff...ergo - they have value.

Jake - if there really is a European band called Adam West, maybe you'll
have to go the Wrathchild route and change your name to ADAM WEST AMERICA.

First off, Justin if you ever listen to Satanists like Paul Valentine he
tells us that Satanism is really humanism. It's about human power and
believing in yourself and not some god. The SATANIC BIBLE is also a fairly
good reference book, although some people believe Anton to be a showman.

I have a slightly different interpretation of some Danzig songs than does
Thom Patton. To me, Snakes of Christ is about televangelists or any other
so-called 'religious person' who professes God, but acts the opposite. "I'm
the One" is about someone finding their destiny, and "Her Black Wings" is
about, as Glenn stated, "woman to the tenth power". Glenn has also stated
that "Son of the Morning Star" is an anti-Farrakan(?) song.

To Ardito, I was just making a fucking joke. Don't take it so goddman serious.

Hey...Went to the Electric Factory on Friday. I'd never been there
before and I must say it is one of the
coolest places to see a band. Powerman 5000 was boring. Nothing new.
Me and a friend went upstairs
and had a few beers. I thougt Electric Hellfire Club was pretty good.
I even took my place downstairs. But
when they started saying "Christ is dead, Hail Satan" I figured them
for a bunch of flakes. The music was
allright. Anyway, Danzig came on and slayed as usual. The vocals at
times were a little too low, hard to
hear. The set was pretty much as described except I don't remember
anyone saying that he did Snakes of
Christ, which was the last song of the night. The new songs sounded
incredible live, with some minor vocal
problems.

The best however was after the show. Danzig came out and there were
quite a few people waiting to meet
him. Glenn sat on the steps of his bus and one at a time met every
single person there. He took pictures
with anyone who wanted it, talked with each for a while, signed all
you could give him. He was just
completely cool. I don't understand the negative rumors he gets
about his attitude. For me he signed
Samhain III CD book, Danzig III limited edition box set CD book, and
Satanika 1, 2 and 3 of the miniseries.
He answered my questions and was just a nice guy. No rock star
posing or attitude at all. In the end, he
shook my hand and that was that. Anyone who goes to see him,
definitely wait around afterwards. It is well worth it.

Well, what a hotbed of controversy last issue was. Here's what I think of
the whole thing...

johnny hotcock had the tenacity to pass judgement:
>You were acting like an ass and needed to be disciplined. Anyone
>quoted as saying "I'm big and bad, I'm gonna stomp some wimps" needs to
>be put in line. I'm sorry if you didn't learn anything from the
>experience.

I fail to see your logic. How does someone saying something you don't
like give you the right to "discipline" that person? Correct me if I'm
wrong, but you live in the United States of America, right? The country
which, so loudly and repeatedly, proclaims it's (drumroll please) First
Amendment every chance it gets. I live in Canada, so I might not know, but
has this extremely popular Top priority right to all American citizens been
repealed?
What gives you the right to force yourself, however "lovingly" a "tap,"
onto another person for saying something (which certainly doesn't sound too
ass-like to me, I've heard some real stupid stuff at shows, particurlarly
Danzig shows) which you find objectionable? Further more, you have not even
given any indication that said remark was directed at you, which might,
however unlikely, have given you the right to defend yourself against such a
threat. I think, dear sir, you are the ass in this confrontation.

Opus, MePhiSto78 and about a zillion others over the course of god knows
how long, have graciously pointed out many a "Misfits sighting" which just
happens to be a rerun. Is their anyway to compile all of the known sightings
into one lump sum so that the uninitiated can consult it to see if their
sighting has been uncovered previously? This is getting really tedious, it
seems like a new person joins the Misfits Bible and proceeds to share every
sighting they have ever seen with relation to the Misfits. I think this is
very considerate of them. However, it's ALL been said before. To those with
an amazing discovery, please spare us having to hear about yet again. Set up
a list instead and invite people to add to it whatever is found.

Thomas H. Patton IV speculated:
>as for the only song onthe album being about the devil being "Pain in the
>World", I'm not tosure, but the snake of christ is Lucifer, I
>believe. And also, I think"I'm the One" is about the coming of the
>antichrist and "Her BlackWings" is about someone seeking refuge in the
>arms of a demoness, maybe? Also, "Devil's Plaything" is about the power
>of the Lords of Hell

Hmmm... sorry Tommy, but your way off base. Check Eye Magazine 5/13/93
and Faces Magazine Summer 1990, available for perusal in the Articles
section of Misfits Central and listed as "eye.93" and "faces3.90"
respectively. Glenn gives some rare insights as to the true meanings of the
songs and title of Lucifuge. That ought to set you on the right path.

x_killebrew and Leah Justis:
This "film" can neither be called strange nor fine. In a nutshell Orgy of
the Dead sucks. It's not even laughably bad, a la Plan 9 or Night of the
Ghouls, it's just dumb. There is a reason Ed Wood never made this movie,
even he knew it was no good.

That's the news folks and I am outta here. (I miss Dennis Miller)

doesn't seem too interested in women" (or something). Do I have to spell
it out for you? It's SARCASM.

BTW, foo those few of us who even like Danzig, the clip this guy saw on
Inside Edition or whatever is not the same "I'm the One" that's on the
Lucifuge home video; it is edited slightly differently, with a few other
scenes.

> yeah, incidently, Son ofthe Morning Star is also about the star Lucifer,

no, actually, it is about Satan himself, not the star. (according to
someone who should know --- namely, the guy who wrote it). But that song
is not on Danzig II, so it has nothing to do with what I was talking about
anyway...

6> say. Who "they"are, I don't know. Next, he tries to say Marvel had Hulk

Christ, you should really learn to read. I didn't say that at all. I said
they had "The Hulk" trademarked in 1962, LONG BEFORE Terry Bolea (?) ever
used the name. You actually used, virtually verbatim, one of my own
statements to prove me wrong. Of course, if you had comprehended my
statement in the first place, you would have realized that I was saying
the exact same thing you just did.

uhh, well, yes, I'm sure you're quite the credit to dementia, and that
gibberish about rage must have some meaning to you, but I really don't
know what you're talking about. As for size, even if it does count, at
5'4" I would hardly be in a position to use it over someone else, would I?
As for the teeth down the throat, (?) understood that I was
quoting WWF Champion Shawn Michaels, whose finishing maneouvre is a kick
to the face. He understood that I was joking around, and he responded the
way Steve Austin would have. Now, if you are not a wrestling fan, I
wouldn't expect you to know this, but if you have a brain, I would expect
you to know when two people are having a little fun with each other -- and
not to bud-in by flaming me for it.

> From: tes777@bridge.net (Tammy S.)

I will take it as far as I have to and I will do anything and everything
to retain the World Wrestling Federation Title.

hmmm...no. I don't respond to every word, in fact I ignore quite a bit. I
personally don't think it's interesting reading other people's bashings of
Glenn, because it's always the same groundless bullshit over and over.
Although I will say that, as screwed-up and foolish as they are, at least
CG puts some thought into his criticisms. (oh come on, that line is
begging for someone to flip out on me. You saps...) Anyway Tammy, I think
YOU really think I'm getting psychotic when I'm really only having a
little laugh.

...although I guess that is an ironic statement considering everything I
just said to that other guy above...

oh well, "I know you wouldn't want to be me, but believe me, even if you
wanted to be me, you couldn't"

the most exciting for me. I never new this...

When Han and Luke take Chewy to the detention block to rescue the
Princess, The guard says "What is thisssss thing??????"

Luke says "Prisoner tranfer from cell block 1138."

Subject: Satanists

Okay, for all you simpletons who think you know Jack-shit about the
world, go read the Satanic Bible by Anton Lavey (spelling?!?!). This is
their bible, so it's pretty accurate to their beliefs. Read it before you
guys babble about shit you know nothing about (a regular phenomenon in
here). Anyway, for those of you that are too scared to read it [because you
might go to hell], the beginning of the book explains evil as Christians
ignoring primal instacts to LIVE (evil= live backwards, you get the idea).
The church is there to control you; they believe only animals masturbate, so
humans should not (to deny that we are animals), blah, blah, blah. Okay
basic stuff that those who aren't Satanics should believe. Anton also
writes that he doesn't believe in black magic, black masses, the devil (as
an entity), but the second half of the book is spells, the names of the
devil and shit like that. It's a load of shit. So before you judge/comment
on something please know what you are talking about. I might be forced to
sacrifice you to my god....ME. If you want to know more about Satanics, you
can ask me. My knowledge is limited, but I can help a little. Also I
suggest you read the Satanic Bible, just to get an idea of what they're
about. Don't buy it though. REALIZE ONE THING....IT WAS WRITTEN TO MAKE
MONEY!!

Subject: Gold EARTH AD disc/drumstick sale: PRICE CUT

(I apologize to the person from AOL who I just about closed a deal with on
this auction, but your email address ceased to be valid during our
negotiations and therefore the items are back on the cyber-auction block.)

Item #1 - A gold EARTH AD compact disc, mint condition, played only
twice to make a tape of the songs for my walkman. Limited to
15000 copies, according to Mark Kennedy's official discography.

Item #2 - a drumstick used by Dr. Chud during the Misfits' May 6th, 1996
show at the SUB ZERO club in Danbury, CT. This was caught by me
when he threw it out into the crowd during a break in the set.
After the show I managed to get Jerry and Doyle to sign it!

Item #3 - ticket stub from the above show, goes with the stick for free.

I would like to keep the items together but will break them up if
absolutely necessary. I'd like to start the bidding (which will be
conducted by email) at $50 for the CD, and $15 for the drumstick.

this email address has had a few problems lately so as a backup you can

Hello fiends...

First off - the Misfits Bible T-shirt thing. Jason no one ripped of you or
anything Glenn did. The process in getting to the design of the front and
back of the t-shirt was this(being that i ran the voting and such). first
we had a pole with 5 questions to decide what the design should look like,
next we took a vote on that. once we had the idea to what the design for
the front would look like all artists that were bible subscribers were
asked to submit designs that fit the look we all agreed on. we had i think
about 12 different ones which were also voted on. the winner was Greg's
design. i had pointed out in the very beginning that i would be designing
the back. and i did not try to copy anything. i drew out several
different ideas till i saw one that worked. the CG that i used was a photo
of the real CG from the serial, that i had altered to make it look like a
drawing. which also goes back to the reason why i did not take on
desiging the front design. I am a graphic designer not a fine artist. my
drawing skill would not match that of Greg's or any of the other people who
drew the design concept. so that is how we got both designs for the
t-shirt.

Romual_Piecyk - i hate to tell you this but if you were reading the bible
last week you would have seen that both Bile666 and myself had posted about
Daznig cancelling the show at Roseland.

Misfits 101... who has what...
The new issue of MRR is out, and what is up for graps.
no vinyl but lots of video footage. Merel, GG's brother who will sell you
anything under the sun including his brother on vinyl, tape and video. has
some misfits footage on his list. also Peter De Mattia is still serving it
up after 10 years that i know of. though footage that some of my friend
have from this guy was not so hot back in 1988. he is now sporting an
e-mail address peterd@warwick.net

oh and if you are looking for all the colors for Collection 2 Vinyl Ink has
all three for sale. plus they are on the internet.

the rest is Danzig stuff but nothing to new. all i can say is i hope Ashes
makes it to a release.

oh to the guy with the Die Die poster, one that is a bootleg and there were
several of them out there. One that had the back of Legacy, one for WAU,
the Die Die, and a couple others. the price range was $10-15 when they
first came out. at this point i have not seen a lot of them around. if i
remeber correctly some were british imports like some of the bootlegged
7"s. it seems each country took a shot at bootlegging Misfits items.
though Germany had the best success at it. at one point and one of the
reasons i gave up buying bootlegs was Germany churned out 30 different
bootlegs in one month. also MRR did a article on all the bootlegs being
made. talked a little about some the misfits ones.

though the original poster for the misfits were not big like the bootleg
ones. the Three hits i have is small in comparison. and the WAU promo
poster is a perfect square. finding them is not as easy as the bootlegs.
it took me years to get the promo WAU.

well more stuff next time.

Later to all the fiendies!?!(warning you have to use your own judgement to
understand the meaning of what this sentence says)

Here are some observations. 1. The Electric Factory was about 1/2 full at the most. This really surprised me, especially after my buddy telling me of the packed shows he has seen at the Ritz a few years back. I saw the Ramones there last year, and it was packed to the gills, during a huge snow storm to boot. 2. Since I dont like industrial, and I hated Danzig 5, the new tunes bored the hell out of me, but I guess I expected that. 3. Tommy Victor can play. His tone wasnt as good (IMHO) as Johns, but he pulled off all the licks no sweat, and did all the note dives WITHOUT a whammy (neck bends) which really impressed me. Tommy needs to stop smiling. There is no reason to smile on stage when playing Danzig. Your supposed to look evil and pissed off. 4. Lazie? ---- yawn 5. Castillo. Ok drummer I guess, but he is no Biscuits. Chuck pounds the hell out of the drums, this guy was just there. The old tunes sounded good, not great, just good. Never having seen Danzig before (and I had a chance on every tour since '88, I just kept putting it off! I have lived to regret it!) I can only compare to what I have heard on the albums. I'm not going to go see him again. AZ Ps - The Electric Hellfire Club was the worst band I've ever seen. They even covered "Calling Dr. Love" by Kiss. Tammy definitely knows what she is talking about when it comes to collecting and find originals for low prices. The lowest prices you will ever find will always be found at record conventions. I found a tan cover Unholy Passion for $10, an original Agnostic Front Victim in Pain [Rat cage records, original cover] and their first ep United Blood [pre-RatCage version] [$12 total], Cro-Mags Age of Quarrel 10 inch [$10], and an original Madball Balls of destruction [$1] at record conventions. Most of the time the dealers do not know what they have, especially if they buy collections and just try to sell them off. Goldmine is a very good place to look, but people who advertise there know what they have and charge accordingly. I also found it cheaper to buy NYHC stuff from dealers ANYWHERE outside the tri-state region. Misfits items will be a lot cheaper in butt-fuck Montana than in Bleeker Bobs in NYC [which has an excellent selection of old punk/hardcore/oi, but charge WAAAAAY too much]. Incidentally, my best find was an Initium Cd with Unholy Passion on it. This rarity was bought right off the shelf brand new from a record chain [the old Record World]. I am assuming your questions are legit, but if not, I guess I'm the fool. 1. Vinyl is an ancient (i.e., popular until the late 80s/early 90s) form of distributing music, sometime called LP (For Long Playing record) or EP (Extened Playing record) and in the punk world, the most common 7" EP (7" being the diameter of the vinyl disc in question) Since there is now a whole generation that has never seen a vinyl record, I assume this question is valid. 2. i will pass on this one, check the webpage 3. Glenn left because he wanted to. I guess it was time for a "career" change which became Samhain, which then became Danzig, which is now Nine Inch Glenn. Personally, I am waiting for a surf album by Glenn. He can get Dick Dale to play guitar. Now THAT would be cool. He could call it "Danzig 6, HangTenwiththeDevil" Teevie Alan asked "Heya's.. i just found a website for an "Uncle Floyd >Show"... could this >possibly be the same one with the infamous Misfits appearance 'way back? I was at the January 31st H2O show at the Trocadero in Philly and a couple interesting things took place. First Lars from Rancid (who I'm not particularly a fan of) Joined the band for their rendition of Minor Threat's SALAD DAYS and the Cro-Mags HARD TIMES (you fiends know the Cro-Mags don't you?). Why this was interesting enough to mention here on the Bible was that the word drifting around the crowd was that Lars came to the Troc show after the Danzig show across town finished and was accompanied to the Troc by Glenn Danzig himself. I personally didn't see Glenn and can't confirm anything but I thought it was an interesting rumor. Later. I think, dear sir, you are the ass in this confrontation. Well, I live in the USA, and I say that it is all bullshit. I say that there is no real freedom, and that the government is facist. So, then I have to say that the dude that punched him is an asshole. I mean, when he punched him he created two classes of people, the masters(opressors) and the slaves. That happens everyday here (and elsewhere). America is all about being a hypocrite. Beating on people who say or do things different that you. So, to Johnny Hotcock, fuck you. You decide that you are going to change someone's ideas by beating on them? It won't and doesn't, and never will work. If someone says somehting dumb, put it in their fucking face, and tell them. Don't hit them. shit head. Although, I gotta give D.ETH credit, you said some good stuff. But, see the reality of America is completely different from the perception. America is fake and plastic. The industrial rhythms sound recycled (which is part of the industrial methodology, I suppose), and Danzig's nascent guitar playing leaves you lusting to hear these 10 tracks (including a jazzy revamping of Black Sabbath's "Hand Of Doom") remade live by the band's latest hire, Prong vocalist/guitarist Tommy Victor. Alice In Chains' Jerry Cantrell contributes guitar to three tracks, which helps immeasurably. ---- a few things: 'nascent' means 'freshly emerging'. does this guy realize that Glenny did (my guess) 70-90% of the Samhain guitarwork and a small amount of uncredited work to Misfits and Danzig material? once again, the bassist gets ignored. As for why Glenn left the Misfits, i think you need to go to a Danzig show and after the show is over to to the bus and ask Glenn yourself, i'm sure he would be glad to take the time and explain in detail why he left the Misfits. ;) (hey, we're fiends for a reason, remember.) Christopher Wilson - i think someone is going to point out that you ripped of their idea for a t-shirt. and if you think your the first PERmoronSON to say Glenn is a sell out then you need some serious help. Night of the Ghouls is considered part 2 of Plan 9. Criswell is in this one too. it is also about raising the dead and or communicating with the dead. Misfits 101... Who to trust, more like Trust no one... well i see some of these pop up on the bible from time to time. does anyone know so and so he has not sent me and i can't get in touch with him. i've seen these for years in MRR(maximum rock and roll) and flipside. the nice thing about the bible is you don't have to pay to ask the question and later fry that person for ripping you off in the first place. i have gotten a lot of questions about, is this price ok for this record. it is hard to trust anyone you buy from and i can't say there is one record store or one person who will never screw you. even places i have bought from for years screwed up or screwed me some how. i have a DOA 7" i got in an auction, they never told me it did not have a sleeve, but they sent me a sleeve anyway. so i paid $20 for a very valuable DOA 7" Disco Sucks but the sleeve is for Prisoner. what the hell do i do with that. or you order something you are dying for and they tell you they lost it. and this is from some of the top record stores in the states. Well first ask around before you buy anything. ask about the person if its trade or a straight sale. i ask other traders i know, i've asked Mark and EVB about some people who have contacted me when they saw my wants on the collectors page. i don't know everyone and i don't pretend to. i know that there is a good chance that another collector might know them. if its a record store, i hate to say it but the safest way is with a credit card, at least you can get the company to deal with the store if they screw you. it is a catch 22 for sellers though, people like myself who sell records in auctions or straight sales like money orders since we know the buyer can't screw us with a check that might bounce. the record stores mail order is safe, especially if they are a place like Vinyl Ink and others that have long standing reputations. it is easy to burn them if they screw you and they can't afford that. the other part is knowing the records and that goes back to the detailing i did. you can't get screwed if you know what to look for, and ask all the questions you can about the record before you make the deal. i know you get excited about getting a shot at that original Misfits record, i've been there too. but you need to keep your trend of thought or you are dead meat, with numbers of people waiting to pounce on you. in MRR, its $4 for 60 words, which is nothing compared to what some of these guys can rip off from collectors who don't know what they are doing. plus i can't point this out enough, the ones who sell Misfits out of MRR and Flipside know all to well what they got and what it's worth. and some of them are collectors of the same. to them, new collectors are just a way to make some extra bucks, and big bucks at that. i knew a kid who was collecting back in 92. and was trying to go after some of the same items i was, different sellers and traders though. the money that this one guy wanted from him was ridiculous. plus i found it funny that i was not allowed to get a catalog or buy from this guy, he refused to sell me a Cough/ Cool cause i did not agree that it was worth giving him $350. he turned around and sold it to my friend. to them its who will give them the prices they ask for. you never have to agree, i never did. that is why you bargain. bargaining can be your best friend, it was mine when i got my color vinyl 7"s. so what if they think your a big pain in the ass, you didn't get ripped and pay their car payment for them did you. well till next time. and some more vinyl later. Later, he sang that section again when he recorded the rest of the lyrics. Thus, you hear those lyrics twice. > From: MePhiSto78@aol.com > Subject: more misfits > > i would like to know if there is any way of telling the differance between a > black and a clear vinyl copy of the collection II ? i know for the others > there is a destinct place for the bar code, but where is it located for the > black or the clear (preferably the clear) i want to get it, but i want the Originally, the clear vinyl copies did not have any bar code sticker, although some were found with the sticker in the top right hand corner. Black vinyl copies also have the sticker in the top corner as well, so there is only one way to know - open it up. There were 500 clear copies put out in November of 1995. Black vinyl copies have been out since April 1996. It's probably safe to assume that the clear copies are long gone. mark ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Feb 1997 15:46:24 -0500 From: Crimson Ghost Subject: Last he hehe Issue Art said: >Personally, I am waiting for a surf album by Glenn. Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions on this? It's funny that you referred to the "box" as a first press. Caroline pressed so many goddamn copies of the thing that I'm sure it will be around for quite some time. To get the Static Age cover to open. Lay it in one hand with the back (the side with the track listings) facing you. Then simply apply light pressure to the Caroline logo while pushing it away from you. The back is inset on tracks and slides out. There is some molding flash in there and the first two or three times you open it it's kinda hard but after it wears away it's pretty easy. Tim somebody or other said the following in response to HBK's grammar lesson re: to, too & two: >Notice the use of "foo". Is that in place of "fool"? Or "four"? Or >most likely "for"? >Next time think logically, and don't correct someone until you >know that you yourself are. Okay, jackass? Speak for yourself asswipe. HBK made a friggin' typo, he was complaining about people using the wrong words (a different animal all together). Let's take a look at your grammar Tim: >Notice the use of "foo". - ok good >Is that in place of "fool"? - Is *what* in place of fool? (improper subject) >Or "four"? - Sentences should never start with a conjunction and the bonus..... >Next time think logically, and don't correct someone until you >know that you yourself are. Until you know that you yourself are what? You're using the word 'correct' as a verb. You need to add a second instance of the word 'correct' at the end of the sentence (an adverb). Please let's end this foolish thread with this. We *ALL* make mistakes when we type something up fast. Brett's original post about to, too, & two, was reasonable. The consistant use of incorrect wording makes a post *very* hard to read. On the other hand, a typo is easy to overcome. Really Tim I think you're quite over the top with this. ps. Now with the re-release, this will bury the SBTB > "sighting" as most annoyingly mentioned 138 reference. > Look my brother, My knowledge of Star Wars is not minimal. I've been into The trilogy since I was little. I remember going to the theatre opening night of Return of the Jedi, when I was 7 yrs old. Up in my clost is every original Star Wars figure, most of them are in extremely good condition. I have them all but Luke in Stormtrooper disguise, Han in Carbonite, and Yak Face. I also have all the new ones. I have not watched Star Wars since I got into the Misfits. I started listening to them in October of 1995. Yeah not that long ago, but believe me, I'm into it. So, when I watched it, I came across that line. Why does that make my knowledge minimal? I guess you don't know that I collect sci fi movies? I have THX-1138 you nerf herder!!! When I was little I was in the Star Wars fiend club. So don't say my knowledge is minimal, I know someone who went to Skywalker ranch to personally meet George Lucas. I've been reading this bible for a year and have never seen a post about what I posted. I've mainly been hearing about Saved By the Bell and Jimmy Heart. SO my post is the most annoying? I've heard about the Saved by the Bell sighting about 12 times. I've never seen this one. and the rescently posted American Graffiti liscense plate sighting is new to me. I noticed this, you swine, when Luke gets knocked back and R2 plays him the message, did you notice Lukes Skyhopper in the background? I just noticed that. This was weird, I ordered Invaders From Mars from 1-800-4-Movies cuz I couldn't find it anywhere and Suncoast video (they don't rent, they sell) said it was out of print. Anyway, the one I got was generic and had no box. Yesterday I went to the New Blockbuster in town (every video store, even if they're the same name, all have not the same items) and the had for sale, two copies of Invaders From Mars, The copyright was 1996 so it must've just been reissued. This was a real surprise. It's on Goodtime Home Video and the catalog number is 05-08827. I also picked up a childhood favorite, War Of The Worlds and I also got Dawn Of The Dead. Oh, 1-800-4-movies charged me 20.00 bucks and I didn't even get a box, Blockbuster had it for $9.99. Zycki, you may say that my knowledge of THX-1138 is minimal, I only watched it once, it was very boring. Don't try to front on me again. I'll put a bounty on your head so big, every bounty hunter in the galaxy will be after you. http://www.ecis.com/~mikei/index3.htm ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 05 Feb 1997 13:47:01 -0500 From: Villnave Subject: Danzig in Buffalo, my story Well I saw Danzig in Buffalo on the 4th and here is how it was... The first band Powerman 5000...WOW! Where did they find these guys , in the line trying out to be in korn? These guys were the biggest wiggers I've ever seen in my life! I couldn't tell if they were covering Korn or Rage or each member playing something from each band's songs. They fucking sucked!!! Basically everyone was walking around doing nothing while they were playing and this one guy who looked exactly like Glenn (huge fan I take it) got dragged out by security trying to get these guys off the stage. Entertaining. They didn't play long but it seemed like forever and they had the bass drum miced and processed so it was that deep thud bass like rap or something. Not good on the ears! I got the hell away from these idiots! Then comes Electric Hellfire Club. While I could have made the music on a little Rapmaster Keyboard from radio shack I kinda dug these guys. I mean..they were at least different and definitely not wiggers...not mainstream. They were new and different. Fruity ass pop songs with satanic lyrics...good fun to me..if I wasn't waiting for Danzig. The chick they had dancing was pretty hot and her tits were just popping out of this thing. She was looking at me and pointing and shit and damn did I want to slam her head into a wall and spank her... hmm..but anyway.. an entertaining experience. But you have to understand..the bass drum was pre-programmed..and the drummer hit 4 pads...2 toms, snare, cymbal, and he'd jump around and hit them and occasionally miss. The keyboardist did normal keyboard/samples, the singer had a British accent a little and the guitarist just played the easiest guitar parts I have ever seen! And the chick..well.. did what she was supposed to do I think ;) They finally left in full satanic robing ripping up a bible yelling hail Satan.. Then overture comes on... Tommy comes out and is running around getting the crowd going.. then I see Castillo's shadow..and damn..when did he get so huge! I see Lazie sneaking out . Then Overture ends and I see Glenn run out, stand in the middle of the stage, and point out. The PACKED club went insane. I know everyone's been saying attendance is low but this place was capacity (more) and it was a big place. Some people couldn't even see the stage. They played Mother and Glenn was going so nuts he wasn't even singing. He was just ripping around like a madman! Tommy was smiling...Does he do a lot of drugs or something? He seemed a bit..high. Glenn was intense the entire show and just didn't stop. The crowd was real violent and Glenn was pushing the crowd more and more. The new songs sounded good! Better than I thought they would and the old stuff was good but again, John and Eerie would have been nice but oh well. I can't see John playing Blackacidevil to be honest anyway so..whatever. Tommy seemed to Marilyn-Mansonize the Long Way Back .From Hell solo. Lazie looked really into it and did a great job on bass. Glenn seemed happy and intense up there. More so than in 95 with John,Joey, and Eerie. They seemed to have pre-recorded intros to 7thHouse and other new ones just played, which is ok, but I was wondering what they were gonna do live. Her Black Wings started with this sort of techno beat going it was kind of odd, but it worked once the beat kicked in. The drumming was very good and he was hitting HARD. Glenn jumped down twice with audience, shaking hands etc. I got to him cause I was in the front but man this started a riot! He was pointing at one guy in the audience who was a lamer and said "how ya doin gomer pile".. It was so funny cause this guy looked like him. The guy was motioning Glenn to come down, almost menacingly. Then Glenn made a gun with his hand and "shot" him. One thing I noticed is Glenn's vocals should have been louder but at the front and center of the stage you don't hear the PA as much as the onstage shit anyway. His voice is so strong I could actually hear him above everything when he was close to me. He threw out his necklace, starting another riot..same with his water. The show just fucking rocked.. They left after Long Way Back From Hell and came back out to do She Rides and Snakes of Christ. After the set he introduced the new members and everyone gave each one applause and they place just got loud with yells of "danzig rules".. Tommy threw out souvenirs after the shoe and Lazie jumped into the crown and landed half on me. Here's the songs that were played with a brief review of each one (no I don't remember the order) Mother- So intense he didn't even sing. Being down here front and center redefined pain for me once again. Crowd was singing louder than the band was playing. Sacrifice-When this went into the chorus it rocked! The strobes were going nuts and the crowd just erupted. Glenn was all over the place. Blackacidevil-Started out with the beginning being played over the PA then Joey kicked in. The guitar seemed undefined..as Tommy played whatever he wanted. There were distortions on Glenn's voice in this, but no other songs. I distinctly saw him signal the distortion, and then heard it.. so it was there. Hint of her blood-This was one of my favorites. The lights were low and he made it like he was telling a story using his hands to tell it . Tommy was putting in these little guitar licks that I didn't care for, but, Glenn didn't get distracted so I guess it's with permission. I got the impression Glenn let them do what they wanted. Deep- This fucking rocked. The bass was LOW and the lights were down. When they went into the chorus it was just powerful. Glenn was whipping all around and Tommy was doing some cool licks on the guitar.. He introduced it as the one from the X-files Soundtrack, Deep. Twist of Cain- This got the crowd more excited than any other. It just rocked. The front of the crowd looked like the crowd in the old videos, headbanging and such, fists in the air. She Rides-For some reason the crowd was into this least, I dug it cause a few chicks got topless. Besides this was always one of my favs. Long Way Back From Hell- They played it real fast and hard and the Glenn put a foot on the monitor and sang the choruses, in the other parts he ran around. Again, I didn't like the solo much, but he is not John Christ. Snakes of Christ- This was really fast. The crowd was singing loud. Her Black Wings- Started with some techno beat but kicked in normal. IT was played really fast, and before the bitch line Glenn stopped and put he mic down and just Grinned at the audience and got them going. Dirty Black Summer- This rocked.. enough said. Again, played fast. Left Hand Black- Glenn looked really evil in this song and a lot of people dug it. I had never heard them play this before live so it was a treat. Until You Call On The Dark- This was the 3rd song played and they played this TOO fast in my opinion. Glenn was still running around so much and head banging he let the audience to the singing, who was louder than the band anyway. Bringer of Death- The pit was huge! They played it fast and HARD and Glenn went down and let my area sing the Bringer of Death lines. Before the fast part Glenn put the mic down and kneeled at the front of the stage pointing at the audience laughing evilly with this evil look on his face and was nodding his head. He wanted to see some skulls rolling around after this I think. The place went INSANE. It was the best.. So fucking violent..the way it should have been. 7th House- I was waiting for this cause it just kicks my ass. I hear the beginning being played over the PA as Glenn drank some water, and then it just erupted. It just kicked the whole place's ass! When he went into the Chorus It was louder than anything I ever heard in my life, both strobes went on and every other light in the club. It was like looking at the sun and Glenn was flipping out! I have never seen him this intense ever before in my life. It was just the best... my fav of the night! It's Coming Down-This was hard hitting. Castillo impressed me on the drums on this and Glenn put out the mic letting us sing the chorus. This was fast but it just rocked! That's the show as far as I remember it. I keep using the same words. fast, hard, intense. The new band is great and I look forward to them coming back. I don't what the problem is everywhere else but they just kicked my ass. My ears are still ringing loud ass hell at 2pm the day after. Do you think that there's a voice before or after it says that? Now if it was a tape of Michale, it would probably just be him telling everyone to quit saying it before he does. That really busts his chops, did anyone ever notice? 4th-to John Kendrick, get a copy of the magazine and back order it. I'm relatively new to the Misfits Bible, but I've noticed people asking questions about collector stuff, and I've been collecting for quite some time, and having dealt with tons of sleazies and tons of folks on the up-and-up, I'm going to try to help you people not get screwed with a few tips, if Tammy already said them, I'm sorry (maybe I'll even manage to put some Misfits info in here too!) First of all, people who advertise in MRR and Flipside do know what they're talking about, but more than a few of them have a reputation to uphold. Guys like Ryan Richardson and Jukka Sateri and Nathalie V. advertise pretty much every month with "Tons of punk rock mega-rarities". This would give you the assumption they're on the level. Some are...I've traded with all three of the above and gotten my stuff, but I would still watch out. These people are putting themselves in the public spotlight, and leaving a trail, so here's a few ways to make sure you get the trade done: 1) This is pretty basic, but if the address is a PO Box or a company name, not a person's name or home address, there is a better chance you're gotta get had. For example if the place is called "77 Records" at "P.O. Box 400" or something, that's not giving you a persons name or a real address where you can reach them...when you send something again, don't be surprised to get return mail. 2) Try to get a phone #. And don't just use it as a back-up. I'm paranoid when I'm sending Crap Detectors records through the mail, and I want to make sure everything goes down well. I will call the number first. I make sure the person is there, and I talk to them. However, if you really want to be safe, don't stop there. Look them up in a phone directory, and see if the number and address are the same by their name as the ones they told you they were. If this all goes down smoothly, at least you know where they are so you can contact them if they rip you off. 3) Even if the records actually go in the mail, it's important to make sure they send them properly and for decency, you should send them properly too. Go to a place like (where I am) Mailboxes Etc. These people are great. They helped me pick out the right packages, get the right stuff in the actual box, insure the package correctly, and gave me a good timeframe of when the stuff will get there. Everytime I've used them my stuff has gotten to the reciepient as good as it was sent. The Postal Service works too, but they're more crowded and less personable. Support Mom and Pop stores if you have any around you (I don't). Make sure you reach a shipping agreement with the other person as well, and make your position felt on it. And if you're sending a package, and it's insured and registered, you got proof ya sent it, no-lose situation. 4) NEVER RUSH. Always take precautions. A questionable judgement I've seen some people make is to only do "You send first". This can lead people to not want to trade with you, but if you inform people this is the only way you do it and provide about eight zillion good refrences (make sure their screen names aren't all @aol.com too if you're doing internet)...new traders obviously can't do this (don't forge refrences, even if you intend to send, it only gets you into trouble...) but people who've been around the block can obvious do this. 5) This might seem obvious, and it's ill-placed as a "Last step" but come on people, don't forget to research what you're getting. What if it's a bootleg? Not the promised black/purple swirl vinyl? WHAT IF YOU DIDN'T EVEN GET IT!? Before you say "Aw nuts" and run around mailing lists and classifieds posting "I'm gonna get this bastard!" notes (which just encourage him to bunker up and hide)...what do you do? Well, if you checked up on the phone # and such like I told you, call them up at 3 AM. "Where's my record!" A week of that oughtta get the record out...no, but seriously, here are some "I been ripped off, whadda I do?" tips, that I've seen work. a) Got any friends or contacts who live near this guy? Show up at his house. "Hello, I'm looking for this record." That at least has him knowing you're serious. b) Inquire with those friggin' cops or with the postal service. Not getting what you agreed to is mail fraud, over state lines, which is a big no-no in the law's eyes. c) Get into contact with him somehow. If you didn't get his phone #, write the letter again. I'm sorry to say this, but with a PO Box or with no-name on the person, your chances are SLIM of finding your stuff, so always be careful. If it's PO Box or no-name, send a few pre-letters first...dig up some dirt for a back-up in case he rips you off. But mail frauders deserve whatever you think of to do to them! d) If the person is in a public spotlight or is a big trader, hose their reputation. If they ripped you off, the least you can do is to warn others not to send to this address. Again, PO Boxes can be changed, and they can use their friends' address, but if you explain to people what happened they can be wary not to get ripped off. A bad trader list is floating out there somewhere...I have my own "Trading Blacklist" which is currently two pages long... I may have repeated a lot of important points there, but the basics exist...trading by mail
